We all deliberately chose our lives over Miss Caren's. As such, I don't see why everyone is acting as though her death is something to be upset over - this is exactly what we wanted, and if someone truly had that many qualms over it they could have refused to vote and taken the penalty for it.

It's a truly obnoxious lack of conviction in one's actions as soon as it's decided that the result is unpleasant. It's grating.
