Okay, well, the gist is that you're melding down runs or books.

[ she lays down an example of both: 2, 3, 4 of spades and then three 8s (hearts, clubs, and diamonds) before shuffling them back in once Estelle's had a good look. ] Runs of course need to be all the same suit, need to put down art least three in both when you put them down. The goal each hand is to empty your hand and you can move around any of the things on the board as long as you keep it to the minimum three in each book or run.

Each turn we draw, do what plays we can, discard. At the end of the game - when either of us runs out of cards in our hand - we'll score up what's in front of us, subtract what's left in the hand, and then... well, the winner's the most points! Ultimately, we might play a few hands. Let's make the points this time... two hundred? That'll go quick.

[ She says this while idly dealing out their initial hands - as it's only the two of them, it's a high number to start: ten. ]
