[ You know what this murderschool needs? Party games. She talked about it with Tarrlok during the afterparty and today's the day she's going to host a game of truth or dare. After that unpleasant little motive, she's sure a lot of people are going to appreciate a distraction. She's a little too old for this, but watching each other perform stupid dares should be entertaining.

So during the day, she writes a bunch of notes and slides them under everyone's doors. One also goes up on the fridge. ]

[ As promised, there's food! The main attraction here is the build-your-own-parfait bar, but there's a nice assortment of other things too - yakitori made by Kyrie, Fern's mac and cheese, Sayaka's curry, plus a tea/coffee bar courtesy of Weiss. There's also a few bottles of booze Chie grabbed from the bar. Drink responsibly, please.

Have fun playing truth or dare, everyone! Remember, you can refuse a truth or a dare if you want to, but then you'll have to drink one of the shots of hot sauce Chie has prepared. Unless you're being asked to reveal what's in your envelope, then you can refuse without punishment. ]

Sure, sure, I can do it!

[ Hmm, well... ]

I've got a son, Henry! Henry's a very kind man, like I said. Honestly, perhaps a little bit too much - the man's servile enough that he's okay with being married to the shrew of a woman he happened to marry. That's Calera, by the way. Anyway, I guess good and questionable mix to produce good, because their three grandchildren are gorgeous.

Ren's the oldest, he's several years older than you. He's a bit rough around the edges, but he happened to get James's good looks! He'll grow into his father's gentlemanly vibes eventually. Then there's Karin! Oh, dear Karin... she's a late bloomer in some ways, even if he body's really over-developed. She'd be about your age, actually! The spitting image of me, other than some bits she got from her mother. And then finally, little Anju. She's eleven or so right now, and you might mistake her for a doll if she was standing still, so long and pretty is her platinum blonde hair.

They all sound lovely.

[But...]

You aren't fond of your daughter in law?

Of course not! She's the worst!

[Adelina no, there is nothing but darkness ahead here... ]

What has she done?

I'll start with truth. [ She says, while spooning parfait into her mouth at an alarming rate. ]

Let's see... my world is full of both Greater and Lesser Spirits. I, Maxwell, am considered a Greater Spirit, because I maintain a semblance of order among the world.

Lesser Spirits are elemental beings that are capable of forming pacts with humans in order to allow them to cast spells known as spirit artes.

I am personally familiar with Undine, Efreet, Sylph, and Gnome who have looked over me for a long time. They are my allies and, I suppose humans would say they are like family to me.

[Her fondness shows easily enough-- like a parent bragging about their children's accomplishments.]

What hasn't she done?!

[ Inhale and- ]

Oh she's just the worst, the worst! She's always mouthing off and smirking like she owns the place, strutting around my manor like it's something that she built herself when I remind you that no, no, we did, me and James! And speaking of that, just because James said that she would be a perfect match for our Henry being more the assertive sort that's clearly not the case! She's so mean to him! Demanding to much, scolding him fort the littlest thing! Oh, I've seen her hit the man with a shoe before, even, can you believe that?! There's a difference towards being a tough partner for a somewhat soft man and being some overbearing tyrant of a woman! Honestly, she's probably the reason that Ren's ended up the way he has, with her condescending smirks and her low cut dresses, just because she's a little bit on the top heavy side! Is it any wonder that the boy can't respect women worth a damn with a mother like that? And I know she was the one who put a rock on top of my coffin last time around, I'm dead certain she was going to up and kill me! Not to mention that one time when we were young and she was trying to keep me away from little Ren--

[ . . . This can continue for several more minutes. ]

[She does take a moment to process all of that, but once she has—]

...She hit your son with a shoe and attempted to kill you?

[Those two things definitely stand out.]

How dreadful! Why would she do such a thing?

Didn't I just tell you? Because she's the worst!

And your son doesn't find this behavior troubling in the least?

Oh he's just smitten with her, always has been. It makes the best men blind.

...I will hope that he sees the truth soon, then. I'm sorry you have to deal with her behavior in the meantime.

Ah... So you yourself are a spirit?

[She didn't expect that, and she bows her head; somehow, she feels the show of respect is needed.]

Maintaining a semblance of order in the world... It seems a difficult position to hold.

Yes, although my vessel is human.

[She's not unfamiliar with those who treat her with great respect but she's never felt it was necessary.]

It is a difficult task but it is a duty that I take great pride in. I wish to help provide for a wold where humans and spirits can continue to co-exist peacefully, because I care deeply for them both.

[But if she wants to provide for that sort of world, then that must mean it does not yet exist, Adelina thinks. There's a small, thoughtful frown on her face.]

Have there been tensions between the two groups previously?

Unfortunately certain machines that were created to help humans advance in certain fields-- healing, for example-- were only able to function by using the lives of spirits to power themselves.

While I'm sure the humans responsible did not do it with malicious intentions, I could not allow spirits to continue dying that way.

But now... there are people looking for safe alternatives. I'm sure humans will manage to surpass what even they believed was possible.

[Her fondness for humans is also very strong. She has a great deal of faith in them.]

...I am truly sorry to hear about your comrades. I hope a solution is found quickly, and they stop relying on those harmful means of advancement.

[There's sincerity in her voice as she says that.]

Blueberry tart is my favorite of all. As for others I enjoy... Roast pheasant is delicious.

Ah I see-- I have never had a blueberry before. I assume it is some manner of fruit?

[Is this a way for her to determine new things she needs to eat? Yes probably.]

Yes, it is. Blueberries are less tart than raspberries or blackberries, if you have tried either of those before.
