But more than that, blood carries through the life experiences, thoughts, and emotions of a person, in a way we vampires can smell and taste. Every vampire has one of these Blood Affinities, and when you bite a human - sure, you're taking their blood, but you're also hunting to take in some of that corresponding taste you have, convert that into nutrients.

The boastful, braggarts, stubborn - all of them smell much more delicious to him, and when he takes their blood, he's also stealing from them their pride until their body can produce more blood to replace what was taken. A Samurai might become humble, for example.
