Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

I think I'm well aware of what I did to have bad karma -- unlike you, apparently, since you're so interested in getting drunk. [Kyrie grabs the glass and pushes it away] Get yourself together, Tohsaka-san. This is embarrassing.

[heritrix]

[—hey now. Rin sits right back up, like her dignity is being challenged.]

I'm not drunk. [...] Am I? I do feel a little strange, but I haven't even had two glasses.

[chessturner]

You're halfway drunk. That's more than you should be -- which is 'not drunk at all', for your information.

[Underage drinking is not good, Rin]

[Rin adjusts her posture, doing a good job of someone who's drunk trying very hard not to look drunk. But she actually does look bothered by this! At least halfway.]

Impossible. [Huff.] I'd die before I'd let anyone see me drunk.

[...

...let's check the bottle again just in case.]

[Kyrie puts her chin in her hands, looking at Rin attentively before finally saying]

Why are you drinking? Did you remember something bad?

[heritrix]

Because I like drinking. I wanted to try something new...

[She doesn't even know what the heck this bottle is still, it was one of those ones with a weird label. Like before, she's not seeing an alcohol percentage marking on it anywhere, just something that says 12.0 proof which she assumed was a different way of noting the content percentage.]

12%? [She sniffs and closes her eyes, making a scrunched up face. Mutters lowly to herself.] That's weaker than usual, even if it doesn't smell like it.

[...That said, Kyrie might not be wrong about why she's here, in any case. Disregarding the drinking habits of a minor, Rin's not usually in the bar. She regularly stops in briefly to sneak something out, but Sayaka is the only person she's shared a drink with in the entirety of the time they've been here. So this is a bit of a rare sight.]

Even if it's weaker than usual, it's going to slow down you enough to leave you vulnerable.

[As if to demonstrate what she means, Kyrie grabs two napkins, makes each one into a ball, and tosses them at Rin's forehead, one after the other]

[heritrix]

[Peering very closely at this bottle (wait, that decimal point is weird...), Rin doesn't actually notice the napkins until they're bouncing off her. CASE PROVED, KYRIE. At least to you. Rin just turns her head to watch the napkins bounce to the floor.]

...are you into basketball or something? [She points behind the bar.] The waste basket is over there.

[chessturner]

My, you really are in no state to be out of your room. Stand up, Tohsaka-san. I'll take you back to your room -- for your own good.

[heritrix]

Hey, hey, don't be so hasty. [She clings to the edge of the bar, like she's not sure if she needs to push up or hold on.] Does it matter where I sober up? We could just sit here and have fun.

[chessturner]

I'm not much of a drinker.

[But it's not like Kyrie can drag Rin all the way to her room, so she yields, letting her stay -- even if she clearly disapproves]

[heritrix]

[Rin looks pleased as punch, both that she isn't embarrassingly being dragged away, but that Kyrie didn't leave her on the spot either. She beams, relinquishing her grip on the bar to grab... Not the glass, actually, but the red pendant she brought with her, wholly unique from anything that can be found in the vending machine. The silver chain jingles slightly with the movement.]

That's okay! I'll stop now too, and we can just talk. Or play a game. What would you like, Ushiromiya-san~?
