WEEK 1
You may not have learned much about the Coordinators (besides how unhelpful they are), but one thing's for sure: there's no way out of here. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Coordinators told you about are still hanging in every room. You'll be left to your own devices now - feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Participants for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge.

Every morning at exactly 7AM the clock in the foyer will chime, welcoming you to a brand new day here in Graceside Preparatory Academy. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear the clock chime no matter what room you're in. There isn't a punishment for sleeping in, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

In my world it's a natural ability I have, which is a rare thing.

So that would be several instances of natural abilities gone...

They really are dedicated to leveling the playing field, it seems.

It appears. Perhaps it's for everyone's safety. However, I wish I did have them if only to heal others who may... end up hurt.

Why? I... I think it would be a valuable tool to ensure others don't get hurt or die here.

[Which... well is what's being said and why they removed it but it's not connecting with Estelle in that way.]

They seem to want people to die, is the point.

I... I don't think that's entirely true. I want to believe it's something completely avoidable.

You might want to believe it, but all evidence points to the contrary. We were outright told if someone isn't killed within a certain time threshold, they'll begin executing us.

Again, I ask that you forgive me for being blunt - but unless this is far more poorly-run than it seems to be, the chances of that happening are extremely low. The Coordinators know this building better than any of us; anything we can think of has possibly been considered already.

[She pouts a bit, not accepting this answer at all.]

What makes you say that? As long as we haven't been told there's no escape, then we must try! At least I won't give up.

And why in the world would they tell us something like that?

Really, the point of everything they've done so far is to ensure that we'll continue to very aggressively care about our own lives. Telling us that we're in a situation, with no way out, would be entirely more likely to drive us into despair as opposed to desperation - because it's desperation and not despair that lead to murder, more often than not.

So of course they're going to leave us some vague glimmers of hope. So that people like you, Your Highness, will continue to fall for them.

I refuse to despair and while I admit I am desperate to escape, I would not take another's life willingly.

And despite your words, I refuse to give up! It's because we've been given this threat that we must work to find an exit. Unless you wish to die here, I would suggest we pool our efforts together so that we all may live. So I may fall for them, but there is a reason I do. It's because I truly want to believe such an escape exists.

Oh, I have no intention of dying here, nor do I plan on doing anything along the lines of murder to ensure that I don't. However, your unrealistic beliefs and childish behavior are going to save no one, and I genuinely hope you don't expect sympathy when someone inevitably dies and you inevitably use that opportunity to feel sorry for yourself.

My beliefs are not childish and we both know this. Nor do I expect sympathy should someone be killed. I want to work on this so that no casualties may happen. If someone dies, then at least I can say I tried instead of waiting for someone to pass one because we all decided it was futile. So, I ask that you back off with your antagonistic behavior and seek for a potential solution with us all.

Antagonistic? Bubblegum, you can accuse me of that. The way I see it he's been in top five for productive here.

Then as I said, we should be pooling our efforts to find an escape. Not talking about the futility of one!

I know people have tried the door at the bottom of the stairwell and the bulkhead, too, as well as the windows. Can we smash through the walls somehow?

You really do enjoy putting words in my mouth, don't you - because believe me, that little speech was more childish than ever, given that you seem to think you're accomplishing something here.

You have been doing nothing to actually come to a solution, outside of whining about how there must be one simply because you believe it to be so. Or, rather and more ridiculously, because the woman that's responsible for us being here in the first place told you that.

Is it because you believe the woman running this is your friend...? Tell me, did she also say something to you to make you feel better for whatever you did to put someone in harm's way last time? I'm sure she knows about that.

We cannot trust the people who put us here. That fact remains clear, regardless of what you happen to think. I find adherence to one's beliefs to be admirable, but there's a difference between strength in one's convictions and a blatant refusal to grow up. If you have a solution that isn't "Don't give up hope, there must be a way!", then I'd like to hear it.

[There's a moment where Estelle is silent because she can't deny what Kimblee's said. She's been given a similar speech back home before, too. So she backs off a bit, clasping her hands in front of her stomach, and well, Kimblee was listening about her being a danger to others so...

However, you are correct. I do need to help to find a solution as well and I will. [Someone just... needed to finally tell her that. She doesn't really know what else to say so it's clear he's shut her up in his own way, but she doesn't seem like she's going to cry or anything either? At least she can take criticism well.]

Did she happen to give you any idea of what this theoretical method of escape might be, or was it merely a matter of indicating that one exists without any further details?

[If we're going to do it your way and insist that this person is at all trustworthy, then whatever, he'll hear it for the time being. He'll take it with, like, an ocean's worth of salt because he thinks trusting the showrunners here is a terrible idea, but still.

It's not an apology but it's more or less an agreement to chill for now.]

[He stepped on a bit of a landmine so she hasn't quite recovered yet. Instead she'll twine her fingers and bite her bottom lip as she constructs an answer in her head before she speaks it out loud. It's like what he's said to her has completely changed her from speaking without thinking to attempting to think over her answers to ensure they're not another naive statement.]
