WEEK 1.
You may not have learned much about the Coordinators (besides how unhelpful they are), but one thing's for sure: there's no way out of here. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Coordinators told you about are still hanging in every room. You'll be left to your own devices now - feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Participants for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge. Every morning at exactly 7AM the clock in the foyer will chime, welcoming you to a brand new day here in Graceside Preparatory Academy. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear the clock chime no matter what room you're in. There isn't a punishment for sleeping in, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) |

In the morning she’s in the kitchen trying to make some dishes. Maybe it’s to keep morale up or something like that or maybe it's a form of escapism. With the lack of books, she wants to try to keep busy somehow, so she’s in there for a good portion of the morning. Eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, French toast, pancakes—while it’s not your grandma’s cooking, it’s edible… that’s about it. Not bad, but it’s not the best.
The next part of her day is spent in the laundry room. Let’s be real, she’s that fantasy character playing with the washing machine as she pushes a button and it starts to fill with water.]
Oh, it’s like a fountain!
[And then putting some soap in and pushing the buttons to change the cycles. Yes, she’s messing with the washing machine for the hell of it because she doesn’t know what the fuck it does. And she’s fascinated. That’s really all there is to it. A princess fascinated by a washing machine. Someone please teach her how to use it.
After that, she can be found wandering anywhere in the available spaces in the building as well. Pick your poison, she’s there, almost like she’s completely restless.]

MEETING
So yeah. Come lunchtime, he's gonna get this show on the road in the dining hall. There's some vegetarian stir fry, there's some chicken and shrimp lo mein, there are fried pork wontons and some dipping sauces. HE DID. HIS BEST. and his best is reasonably good, but he's got the sort of frustration of someone who's done a lot of work and is shaping up to do more as he gets his papers straightened out in front of him. When enough people are gathered for the meeting, he begins speaking.]
Perhaps this is a bit too preliminary, but we don't exactly know what sort of schedule we're working on before the Coordinators begin to target us. As such, I believe it's for the best if we work out the very basics of what we know and what we've learned so far to build a foundation going forward.
...I also believe it's for the best that we explain some of where we come from, given that we seem to be from extremely different backgrounds and, possibly, even different realities. Our immediate focus should be escape, of course, but determining the reasons why we were targeted could potentially be helpful in the long run.

As highly improbable as the concept is, the fact remains that we all seem to have wildly varying perspectives on the places from which we originate. Additionally, if there should be a lack of any singular common thread between us as there appears, we may have to accept the fact that there is no such 'reason' we were targeted past mere random chance.

Miss Larimore did say that thought was put into our selection, though she admitted to a possible acceptable margin of error in their whole process. So I'd say I agree with the notion that there's some sort of common thread that we're not seeing - or at least that it wasn't completely random.
Granted, Miss Larimore also seems to be a tremendous masochist, and her partner in all of this is...likely not the most stable man in the world, given the profiles they put up and the information those profiles contain.
[...Just saying, those are the profiles of insane people if he's ever seen them.]
My personal point of curiosity is whether anyone else has noticed changes to their bodies that they can't account for. I can offer the point that my physical condition is better than it should be, given the circumstances, and also that I have some...rather severe scarring that I can't explain.

That means that nearly anywhere there's some kind of technology or modern item, she can be found looking fairly puzzled. Whether it's the washing machine in the laundry room, most of the cooking supplies in the kitchen, and even the lights in the chandelier in the ballroom, it isn't hard to come across her looking fairly thoughtful while examining these items. Should anyone come across her while she's doing so:]
Hello. Would you happen to know what this is and how it works?
[Later on, she can be found in the dining hall, though she isn't eating. She has a few sheets of paper and a pencil taken from the storage room in front of her, and it looks like she's sketching something. Whatever it is, she's focused enough that she won't notice anyone else enter unless they speak to her.]

I'm guessing you're not asking about electromagnetism or anything like that, so the simple answer is that it cooks food, and much faster than a stove or oven. It's not as tasty, but it's definitely quick and convenient!

...He will look at the machines for a very long and long-suffering moment before just. Turning to the rack full of chemicals and checking those out instead, because at least those are familiar.
After that, though, he can be found in Room 26 for a good amount of the evening beyond that; the door is slightly open, though he's not...really doing anything in particular? It's perhaps a little unsettling; he's sitting on the bed, propped up with his back against the wall and his head tipped back, but his gaze doesn't seem focused on much in particular – he seems to be staring at something reasonably high up on the opposite wall, but it's in a way that implies that he's not really seeing too much, and once in a while he's kind of...saying things, quietly. Nothing agitated-sounding, just like he's either thoroughly zoned out and trying to get his thoughts in order, or having a soft but very casual conversation with the wall.
He'll startle a bit if someone enters the room properly, though; no matter how thoroughly distracted he is at the start, it turns out hypervigilance is still a thing, apparently.
Late night will find him either unwilling or unable to sleep, however; the lights are somewhat dimmed down and wandering around in the middle of the night is probably not the best idea given the Sword of goddamn Damocles that's still hovering over everyone, but that doesn't seem like it's going to stop him from being out. He's most likely to be found in the ballroom of all places; he's sitting at the piano bench, though he doesn't seem to be playing anything too complicated – he's sort of humming to himself and tapping out notes as he does so, though he isn't following so much as he is playing harmony against himself. Like he's trying to see what it'll sound like.

After the meeting, Alex can be found in the dining hall still, because guess whose first meal of the day was totally that lunch? Yeeeep, it's her. She's chowing down on any leftovers, rubbing her eyes occasionally because what's a good night's sleep, frankly, and drumming her fingers against the table, if only to just give herself something to do with her hands.
And after that...? She's just generally wandering, maybe looking around to try and find anything they've overlooked? Spoilers, she's finding like...nothing, but paying attention to the tiles or the ceiling or if there's any...hidden passages, she doesn't know, just something to keep from just sitting around. ]
