Week 4.
Ashley Williams and Asuka Langley Shikinami have joined the ranks of the deceased. Two more deaths, two more people whose absences will be felt by the group; a bit over one-fifth of the Participants are dead. And this week, it seems everyone is feeling it. They say three times can be considered a routine, and the fourth week of the exercise isn't breaking pattern any. Saturday can be given to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. There are no more bodies, no more bloodstains; there's nothing else to be found this morning. Unless, of course, you count whatever you found last night, strange dreams or otherwise. Once again, there's a new floor to explore; after everything that trial decided to be yesterday, you deserve the reward. And for the second time, there are rule changes, effective immediately. You might want to take note of them. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains as well!
The Letters and Switchboard posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
TUESDAY
INCENTIVE.
To the foyer, if you will – just for a brief while. Again, I've something to discuss with you.
[And again, it hardly matters in theory whether you're there or not, but it's the thought that counts.]
I've been trying rather hard to avoid threatening you – I've always found such things to be boorish, the sort of tactic usually resorted to by amateurs. But things have changed a bit, and I admit that I'm curious as to what the lot of you will do, anyway; comparatively speaking, it's not as though you've been under duress here. Pressured, yes, but not directly given a reason to move outside of personal gain; otherwise, you've all been provided for, you've all had more than enough outlets to vent your frustrations at, and overall you've been a bit spoiled, all things considered.
So.
It's been proven to you time and again that I know a fair amount about you – that I'm aware of your secrets, and I know more about some of you than you know about yourselves. It follows, then, with knowledge of those secrets, that I know the individuals you would want least to know about them.
I can arrange for those individuals to have a good amount of information that you probably don't want them to have within three days' time.
You've all been operating under the assumption that maybe if you plead enough, I'll send messages back to your own worlds; I said I would consider, but I never agreed to only send messages you like.
Of course, if you take initiative and terminate the exercise before the given time limit is up...well. There's not much I can do about that, is there?

ZOMG! That's what you came up with? That? I can't. I just. These get worse and worse every week.

[...Oh. Wow. Okay, sounds like we just started playing hardball.]
He's bluffing. [That was said in a tone not unlike what he'd used at Asuka's trial--the sound of someone stubborn enough to disagree when he knew damn well he was wrong. It had just occurred to him that the fact his ruined journal was in the vending machine at all meant one thing.]
[Ashley couldn't have been the only one to read it.]

But he can't give in. ] You know, there's too much I don't even understand about myself to care.

Actually fine? Kan-chan's dead, and to her knowledge she has no one else left home, so... well, other than "Haruka", but she doesn't know anything about him. Maybe if she had all her memories she'd care, but...
Well. The incentive's never been the problem, though. It's a matter of who will jump for it, and if they'll go after her.
Youko will calmly linger in the foyer, intent on noting who seems to be at risk this time. ]

[...is there anything that he actually cares about getting out at this point? Like, at all? It's not like he hasn't had to rebound from setbacks before, if he was working on a plan the Dex Holders shouldn't know about...]
...well, I guess that's kind of inconvenient.
no subject
That just leaves other things. It wouldn't be the end of the world if any silly crushes got out, or if someone knew she had been clinging to the plush toy she'd gotten out of the vending machine every night.]
- Mountain Glenn.
[The words are quiet. It's not the whole of the mission that's a problem; it's what she'd said about her family and the company. That would get her yanked out of Beacon and hidden away in a dark corner of the family's estate, only trotted out for fancy occasions, if that.]
...even that isn't worth taking a life over, though.
[Even that worst-case scenario wouldn't happen without a fight.]

[ he's secretly freaking out high, because leave the Doc out of it! ] He's not kidding anymore.
no subject
It's not as though it will matter soon anyway.
[That's quiet and Logan shakes his head, turning to leave. At least this week he won't have a breakdown over the incentive.]

H-how can he make a demand like that? [Her hands clench together. A sign of growing stress.]
[She says with such certainty that it hides the "I'm sure that I was nothing special."]

Go ahead. It's not like I have very many secrets to keep. Most people know about them already, anyway.
And you can go ahead and tell the one who doesn't; she deserves to know.
[He's not biting.]
no subject
Th-that's going too far! [He seems extremely nervous about this motive... what if someone was actually desperate enough?]
no subject
She isn't worried about the motive herself; her secrets have been broadcasted over god damn regional television before, so what's it matter now? On the other hand, everyone else...
Well, it's not like people have stopped murdering each other before, and it's not about to start now.]
