Yeah. [Susan seems completely unbothered by this.] Someone really needed to kill him. I guess it might have been nice if he were willing to work with us, but...you can never trust people like that.

[Also she would have killed him the second he ceased to be useful.]

[She goes cold.] A-at first, I just wanted him to d-die, but when everyone was talking about needing him, until- I didn't know what to believe.

[Horrifying, that he got nearly all of them on his side, in some way. Even if they all wanted to kill him the second he'd stopped helping them.]

...But um...we couldn't just...you know, watch. I- I-I'd do it again. [She feels particularly empty when she realizes she really means that.] I didn't really do much about the shadow, anyway, just- investigated, when it was...safe.
