WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? Well, that's true, if a bit optimistic.

[...Like, he appreciates the library? But given the choice between "reading" and "being off one's face", he kind of figures people are more likely to do rails off the books than read them.

With any luck, we'll find one soon. No windows, again, but... well. There are a lot of us. It can't be impossible.

[She shakes her head.]

I haven't seen any as of yet. You recognize things from your home, though? That's interesting.

Simple are not, I think they're lovely.

[A small frown.]

Though it's interesting to know that they have our things in that device?

Maybe. I don't think it matters too much. These aren't normal circumstances, no matter how you look at it.

[matchbreaker]

If you ask me that's all the more reason to keep things straight.

[ She tosses the apple in the air, catching it... and sighs. ]

... Well, whatever. Not like they were my kids.

[perpend]

It makes me wonder how many floors this place has to it. How long do they plan on having this continue?

I don't know. Perhaps they want us all to die here. I can't figure out what they would get out of letting any of us leave this place alive.

Truuue enough. But they were still young.

I wish I knew what Hanamura was thinking. He must've known nothing good would come of attacking one of our captors.

...The food restocks, Marker-san, I don't think there's anything to say that the blood wouldn't either.

More than likely.

They sure went to a lot of work, though, for what amounts to a slaughter. Bringing people from what must be different worlds, entirely different realities... It's a unique way to go about it, I'll give them that.

[She enters as he's lighting the candle, bringing in a small breath.]

That's a nice tradition.

[If only it weren't necessary.]

I can think of one reason: someone new to bring into the organization behind this. Even if it's just Jericho and Alena running this, I'm sure they'd want to have accomplices.

room 2

[bloodbiter]

[She's passing by when she notices Sayaka's door open, and when she glimpses in and sees the girl inside, she pauses for a few moments before knocking lightly.]

Sayaka?

[explosivecombat]

We were all specifically selected, as well... I really do believe that's going to be relevant. I just can't see what we have connecting us just yet.

[sadisticwarfare]

They'd have to be stupid to believe that anyone here would willingly work with them after all of this.

[destage]

[--Ah. Sayaka was absent enough and in her own head that when she hears the door close, she jolts right out of her stupor and looks at Elda, seeming...struck?]

C--Can I help you, Marker-san?

[perpend]

[He smiles sadly.]

It's the least I can do.

[bloodbiter]

That's not precisely true, is it? You could have simply done nothing.

Howdy, Marker-san. [ A wave! ] I like high places, so I tend to climb trees and stuff a lot.

[ Noticeably, there's no ladder near where she is so it looks like she climbed the shelf itself. ]

[matchbreaker]

Lock your damn door!

[ She shouts this, but then just sort of remains here in the doorway, biting one of her fingernails. ... Oh, she's doing that, isn't she? ]

[matchbreaker]

... Oh, does it?

[ . . . ]

... I didn't know. I can't eat your stuff anyway.

[matchbreaker]

I doubt he was thinking. [ . . . That sounds harsh (and it is) but...

She bites her lip, exhales, and then presses on ]

The boy was jittery the whole time. It's likely he's never been exposed to violence the like you and the others [ not her, unfortunately, she's excluding herself given how much time she wasted ] solved at the trial or we all witnessed at the execution. That sort of thing changes a person. The trauma's hard for people who have lived with it for some time to remember. It's entirely possible he just wanted to end that violence.

You know what she's going to climb too. A different shelf, but it's not like it'll be hard for her, right? She huts and makes to climb on up.

Maybe she's petty about allowing the other the high ground. ]
