WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? I talked to Alena-san and she seems to be completely human. That Jericho man, though...well, he's likely to be human as well, if there's anything strange with him, it's likely it'll just be powers like many other humans here used to have.

That rather provides the core of the issue for a thousand pages or so. [seriously, you could probably kill someone with this book]

What is 'right' and 'wrong' morally simply ties into what is 'good' and what is 'evil'. Killing someone for personal gain is 'evil' to the person killed or to those who cared for the life lost. But to the one who gained something from such an act, perhaps their death would be considered 'good'.

[ Elda is up earlyish once again today! Praise her! Or well, don't, because that would probably be weird. Either way, she's up a little bit before noon today and out the door. Her hair's not really one for hats normally, but in order to get her detective on and get in the mood she puts on a hat she got from the vending machine and decides to take advantage of this getting up bright and "early" to set out on her first quest of investigating the infirmary. ... She's also sort of privately hoping that no one will be in there so she can nick some blood.

But hey!

That's a thing.

Later in the day though, Elda's once more got her gargoyle going on, this time sitting on top of one of the dining room tables and if someone steps into the room... well. ]

I'd been trying to master a certain technique for fighting monsters for a long time. In the 'dream', I was finally successful, which was a relief.

That's what I'm confused about. Because taking a life is bad, there's no doubt about it. However, with what intent was that life taken? Of course, the killer will gain natural enemies and have people who will fear them, but...

[She takes a deep breath.]

It is a rather complicated topic and one that has no clear cut answer.

Mmm, I more or less agree. Kimblee's insight that he sounds young an inexperienced also sounds accurate to me. Everything's being done with more pomp than it probably needs to be.

[Weiss chuckles.]

Something like that. I tried it here, though, and it was weird - I know I'd done it in the dream, but I couldn't do it here. The ability that's made me able to do it feels like it's blocked off.

... Well I guess that's not unusual, a lot of people've had that issue before now.

It's the strangest feeling. I mean...

...back home, people have a thing called Semblance. It takes different forms - speed boosts, shadow clones, magnetism. It's always there, even if you aren't activating it. It's almost like missing a sense?

[ . . . Of course she knows what that's like, she's not lost any magic or whatever, she's lot vital and natural vampire skills.

She just shrugs though, not like she's going to clarify. ]

[She stops short of flat-out cursing, though it's probably clear what she means to say - 'my father is a controlling bastard'.]

I told my teammates this once, and it's the truth - he wasn't the first of our name. He won't be the last of it, not if Winter and I have anything to say about it.
