WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? [Susan was just passing by, but she stops up short upon seeing Sayuri. Maybe it's just that she's so used to having paintings on the walls, and hasn't seen one for a little while...]

I...didn't realize that thing had art in it. I just got a bunch of junk, mostly.

[Hey there, Susan! It's a very pretty painting, isn't it.]

I'm honestly with you, there. It's a very different kind of vending machine from normal, if it's just spitting out such priceless pieces of art like that.

[She assumes it is, anyway. It seems one of a kind...]

It'd probably be worth a lot of money, if we were somewhere where that mattered...

[It's handpainted, and a pretty big piece of canvas. You can sell almost anything of that size for a lot of money; if it's awful, just call it abstract.]

The best thing I got was a deck of cards. And there was a jug full of seawater in there, for some reason? They're lucky it didn't break.

...They had to have put something like that in there to mess with us. Absolutely had to. What sort of purpose is seawater going to have in a place like this?

Yeah, I agree with you. Maybe next time the machine will give you something that'll be a bit more useful. I mean...it has all of this in there, after all. Who knows what else it's got?

I wonder what the point is. I could understand if it were...weapons, or poison or something. Some way to let us all murder each other a little easier...

The worst thing I got was this awful animatronic...miner thing? I gave it to Tabby.

...oh god, does it...even work? I imagine Smith-san would probably appreciate the absurd, but that rates right up there.

It spits out a lot of oil if you touch it funny. Which is probably not what it's supposed to do, but she didn't mind...

...it's funny. It looked like a broken piece of something bigger. Like they'd taken something and ripped it in half, just to stick part in there. [......] A little more deliberate than just tossing in whatever garbage was lying around.

...That seems more like a hazard than anything.

...You know, that might explain it? If there aren't any sort of weapons in the machine, perhaps they tore the animatronic apart to try and make sure it wouldn't be used to harm anyone.

You could still beat someone around the head with it, but that would just be silly...

[There's better murder weapons. Watch Tabby do that now though.]

Maybe it's just to see how we react to new things. That's probably more entertaining than watching us all sit around and read or whatever all day.

That...is true, though. I mean, I'm not familiar with a good portion of this stuff. But at least these plush things are cute? They'll make good room decoration.

[Promptly pulls up the moogle. Look at this thing. Isn't it precious.]

Yeah, that's nice. [Not really her style, but she can understand the appeal.] I got a big blue crystal for my room. It isn't really how I would normally decorate...but it's something pretty to look at.

Oh, you got one too? [Sayaka rummages through her pile for a moment, picking up the blue crystal from her own pile.] This one, right? It's very pretty. I think I might put it on my desk or something.

Yeah, that one! I wonder if it means something...it looks like it's got an alpha symbol in it?

[She picks it up, and pulls it to her face to try to peer inside.]

I'm not sure what they represent, honestly. But it just seems like a normal, but weird crystal...
