WEEK 2.

WEEK 2

Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means.

No more excuses from here on out.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain?

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Alena!]

[To not block the way, Kyrie descends the stairs, going down slowly, just in case. Better not drop any of those bottles]

What did he say to you? He and I have talked only once, but he didn't give me that bad of an impression. Yours must have been a really bad first conversation.
heritrix: (a natural reaction to shinji)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-19 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't remember. I was four years old at the time.

[Rin takes the stairs slowly too, albeit for different reasons. Her steps are overly careful, compensating for dizziness.]

Wait, you knew him before arriving here? Really?

[So you and he are from the same world? Now that she didn't expect!]
heritrix: (whistle)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-20 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
For better or worse.

Then tell me, how's he like? You know him better than me, and I don't want to be caught off-guard if that man is more than he's letting show. For example, that title.

Does he actually execute people?
heritrix: (windswept)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-21 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
People? [Hrmm.] Perhaps, but you couldn't call anyone he executes to be human.

[Halfway down the stairs Rin's already feeling winded, and tiredly tries to hold herself straighter to compensate for that.]

If you want to know more than that, you should ask him yourself. He favors long-winded rambles, so he might tell you.

I think if he wanted to tell me he'd have done it--

[When Rin gets halfway down the stairs and feels winded, Kyrie seems to feel there's something going on. She stops, turning around]

...are you feeling okay, Tohsaka-san?
heritrix: (I see what you did)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-21 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Y-Yeah. Of course I am.

[Not at all. She's taking the stairs slowly in a way a dizzy person would, versus one who's just moving carefully, and her expression is tight with pain even as she tries to play it casually and change the subject.]

I'm taking these to my room, by the way, so when we reach the end of the stairs just head for the dormitories...

[personal profile] chessturner 2017-09-21 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Understood.

[She goes down a couple stairs before changing her mind, going back and holding tighter the bottles]

Hold onto me. You'll hurt yourself if you fall.
heritrix: (oh no he's hot)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-22 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
What— I can do it! It's not like I'm going to fall with only ten steps to go!

[She's not some kind of weakling, gosh. Though more importantly (or second most importantly, in Rin's book, because her pride), holding on to the various jars, Rin only has one arm free and it's the one she's been refusing to use. Not for more comfortably carrying her load, or even to hold the handrail. It's been held close to her middle this entire time instead, laid horizontally across it and unmoving. It's similar to how someone would have their arm braced in a sling, actually, but without a strap to hold it up.]

[personal profile] chessturner 2017-09-22 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
...

[She stares at Rin for a moment, trying to judge if she'd trip and get really hurt if she trips, but she has the feeling insisting wouldn't be of any help]

...fine. I'll trust you on that. You don't look well at all, but if you say you can do it...

It's okay to rely on others, though. Don't forget that.

[You may have relied on Kyrie enough to give her some of your valuable herbs to carry, but apparently not enough to accept her help so you don't fall. She has the feeling if Rin could, she wouldn't have accepted any help at all to carry the bottles]
heritrix: (seethe)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-22 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mouth a tight line, Rin just holds the bottles closer to herself and tries to make good on continuing down the stairs. Don't give Kyrie any reason to say "I told you so". It's bad enough that she had to ask for what help she did as it is, but she needs to get back to her room as soon as possible.

It's nothing personal. When you're a mage, you can't let your guard down around others even during the best of times, and Rin is hyper aware of what sort of situation she's in right now. It's not a good one. If there was ever a time...

...For that reason, Rin's both thankful for Kyrie's help right now, but also quietly afraid. "It's okay to rely on others" Kyrie says, and a flash of guilt runs through Rin's eyes, but she just focuses on reaching the bottom of the stairs. Her knees are shaking by the end, but she does manage it!

Now to get to the dorms.]

Good. This won't take long, let's get going.

[If you didn't fall and break your neck getting down the stairs, then you will be okay! Congratulations.

Kyrie takes the lead until she arrives to the hall, unsure which one is Rin's bedroom. Yeah, she hasn't bothered to learn that information]

Do you need anything else? I don't mind getting you anything that's somewhere else, if you need something.
heritrix: (had a bad day)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-09-25 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
[She's so unused to this, it's taking her by surprise, but Kyrie's being so persistent she's starting to feel bad. And if she offers to take everything in her room, that'll give the other woman something else to do, right?]

Um... [It looks like we're headed to the middle of the dorm area, Room #14.] Mixing bowls. And a mortar and pestle, if you can find it? There's probably one in the kitchen, for making pesto and such...

[She should have thought of that earlier, honestly, but Rin is looking really tired here.]
