WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? Beats me. There's nowhere to even plug it in in our rooms, so it's not like they're getting much use out of it.

Exactly. [ A pause. ] Anyway, do you want scrambled eggs and bacon? I don't mind making breakfast for two.

Whoa, eggs and bacon? Uhh, sure, yeah! I was just gonna chow down on cereal, but like...I never pass up a hot meal.

Alright, one delicious hot breakfast coming right up.

[ Aaand she'll get the ingredients for a nice, big breakfast for the both of them; she likes Alex, and making food for two doesn't involve that much extra effort on her part. Scrambled eggs, bacon, plus some vegetables and two bowls of steamed rice. Soon, the kitchen is filled with the smell of bacon and eggs and Chie is piling a large amound of food onto her plate. ]

[ Steamed rice for breakfast? Oh, that's interesting, must be something they do in Japan? Anyway. ]

Mmm, it's delicious. How do you get the bacon like this, I always- either under-cook it, or overcook it. [ spoilers: alex is not a good chef ]

I add enough water to cover the bacon slices. It keeps the temperature low and even so the bacon doesn't dry out.

Water. Huh. Mental note taken. That'll make 'em nice and crisp too?

Yep. After the water boils off, the bacon will start to crisp up, but won't get tough or cook unevenly since it has already been cooked in water.

...Would you be opposed to giving a demonstration some time? Just so I can...get it down.

Sure, okay. I can give you a demonstration tomorrow?

[ too bad they will be interrupted by a dead body. ]

Sure. If I get it down, I'll return the favor, make some for you.

Uhhh, sure, I think I can whip that up.

Good. [ She brings a forkful of rice into her mouth, chewing. ]

...What do you think of the incentive we got the other day?

[ ...oh, uh. ]

Um... I think it's a pretty steep thing for them to offer, in...some ways.

It's not something I'd murder over, but I can see why others would be tempted. Maybe someone here has an enemy they want to kill, or their world is a hellhole they don't want to go back to.

...Yeah, I think what Kimblee said about not taking it too lightly, it's got some merit.
