WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? [Well, Estelle just can't not say hi if Adelina's in the library, so she approaches her, looking at the embroidery that she is working on.]

[She gives Estelle a smile as she sees her, disregarding her work for a moment.]

Thank you! I'm not quite finished with it, but I hope the rest will be just as nice.

I imagine it will turn out rather nice. I wish I had skills for such things.

[There's a hint of jealousy, but truth be told, she doesn't have the dexterity for it.]

Is this something you do in your free time?

If you would like me to show you how to do so, I would love to show you!

[She gives Estelle a nod.]

Yes, since I was young. It's very calming to do so.

Oh, please do! I would be happy to learn.

[Even if she may not ever become good at it, it still seems like a fun skill to attempt.]

[bloodbiter]

I would be happy to teach you! It's a lovely way to pass the time, especially now that we have a room full of sewing supplies.

[firstaid]

I imagine so. Perhaps the Coordinators were worried about what they say about idle hands.

[She giggles a bit. Of course, no one may share that same sentiment with Estelle. Oh well.]

[bloodbiter]

[A beat.]

I apologize, but I don't believe I recognize the phrase you're speaking of.

[firstaid]

Oh, the full phrase is "Idle hands make the devil's work." It means that if you aren't doing anything, you're more prone to do something that would essentially be bad.

[bloodbiter]

...I would think that our captors would be hoping for such a thing to happen.

[firstaid]

Indeed. It's more reason to stay busy. [Says the last person that looks like she would actually commit a murder.]

[bloodbiter]

I have no doubt that you and I will continue to do so as best we can.

[There are others she isn't as sure about, but if she had to guess, Estelle would certainly be one of the least likely people to act on any of these incentives.]

[firstaid]

[Indeed. Estelle can barely harm another person-- attempting to kill someone, well, that's definitely not like her.]

I would hope so. I think everyone really is trying their best.

[Or at least most everyone.]
