I don't believe in fretting and greiving, why mess around with strife?
[In some ways, this trial was simpler. The killer was lacking in remorse, the victim innocent. The lines were clearer. Was that better, or worse?
Either way, Fern and Alex make up something of a green team, preparing a meal in the kitchen. Nothing particularly complicated. Coffee and water for whoever want it is at one end of the dining table. Along the rest of it is a variety of foods. A plate of cheese and crackers, a bowl of salad and carrots for the healthy people, some handy finger sandwiches, and... a big pot of mac and cheese. What they lack in presentation they make up in sheer volume of food. That's a big tub of mac and cheese.
They struggle with the invitations for a bit before eventually coming up with possibly the most awkward phrasing possible. These notes are quietly shoved under doors with little fanfare more than a quick knock.
We got food in eat place. Food is good to eat. Enjoy food with us?

[The dining area is lined up with some appropriate decorations, quick paper streamers and even some doodles that have been taped to the walls.
Its possible too simple. But maybe people need something simple to gorge on after a complicated day.]

At least she did have a reason. One that wasn't just getting out. I don't...I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting that, but with all of us as the price...
[Too much.]

That's not a problem for some people. Not if the reward is appealing enough. [...] It didn't seem to have a strong effect this time, but the Coordinators will probably provide an incentive again.

[She doesn't even really address the other part; of course someone would kill them all, for the right price.]

[Though it's true she's stranger than Jericho. Rin frowns, reflecting on today's execution again.]

If something else is acting through her, maybe that's part of why she didn't fight back against Yosuke. Maybe it only shows up for murder trials.

[Susan gives a little shrug. She doesn't really believe that's it, or at least not all of it. Like she said, not liking isn't the same as not being willing.]

[Rin's voice tapers off there towards the end, recalling the moment herself. She'd already realized it was too late by the time the door opened and Alena fell through it. It was all so quick on their side, but there were several moments before that no one in the room was privy to. Behind that door, where they could hear Alena and Yosuke arguing.
Alena warned him to put the knife away before Jericho saw, and when Yosuke didn't she was eventually backed into a corner and tried to flee. But why did it come to that?]
Until the moment he cut her, Yosuke hadn't broken a rule. So why didn't she try to restrain him from the beginning, or anything else? We know she's powerful.
[But she didn't do anything but warn him, and try to run away. Rin's thoughts keep coming back to this; she's sure it's important somehow.]
It's strange.

[As soon as he brandished a knife at her, in Susan's estimation, he'd already screwed himself over. Drawing blood was just a bonus. But, you know, it's all semantics anyway.]
Maybe she can't. We've never seen her do anything like that outside of the courtroom.

We should keep an eye out for that, as time goes on. I'm not here for attacking either of the Coordinators; I still think it would end in disaster to even try. But we should keep track of any patterns like that, in the event it could save our skins.

...she said that wasn't even him pissed off, you know? Jericho. I wonder what he'll do when he is?
