don't wait for a knight in shinin' armor, your savior's reflected in the mirror

[That sure was a fucking thing. That execution was a fucking thing. Those secrets are a fucking thing.

Cabanela retreats to his room, but not for all that long. Everyone will get a note eventually, written in very neat handwriting

I do not plan on bowing down to threats and intimidation. If you did not act, it means you were, like me, aware of the risk, but decided against it. Your reasons are entirely your own.

Join me in the dining room if you agree enough is enough, and that you won't acquiesce to threats. I don't plan to let this stop me, and neither should you.

In the dining room itself, Cabanela has set up coffee and tea for those who want it-- there's no food, because to be honest, he doesn't know how to cook. Two more candles have been lit-- he wasn't really sure what to do about the whole... parasite thing... so Fern's candle will have to make due.]

They aren't vampires, or anything of the sort; they don't rely on the same sort of thing to survive. Some of them take human vessels, but that isn't necessary for them. I'm not entirely certain how they work, physically, but I know that much.

[ A long exhale. A long exhale and then she shakes her head. Given the chance, would she do that? Oh, certainly at one time, but now? The whole idea she might not shakes her a little.

... Bah. ]

Vessels, huh? Like those ghosts, or Terumi.
explosivecombat: (A sexy revolution!)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-01 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Quite like Mr. Terumi, from what I understand - he's possibly the closest to one of them that I've met, apparent godhood aside.

[...He is still "Mr. Terumi" to pretty much everyone but Terumi himself.]

If they're anything close to a god, then no wonder they can be independent.

[ she shakes her head ]

... Bah. So what's your stake in it, unless you don't want to say.
explosivecombat: (I haven't the vaguest where he's gone)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-01 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean...?

[...Kimblee. Do you find nothing about what you're doing at least a little odd?]
matchbreaker: (LOCK IT)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-10-01 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
... As a human working to wipe out humanity.

[ Like.

What. ]
explosivecombat: (How cruel...)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-01 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't say that I'm working to wipe them out, per se - honestly, if they manage to win and prove me wrong... Well, in some ways, I would like that.

I mostly just want to see what happens.

You committed to joining some war that's going to summon the four horsemen just to see what happens?
explosivecombat: (It's no accident that I've survived)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-02 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
...I don't quite understand the reference, but I suppose.
matchbreaker: (And you'll become a legend!)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-10-02 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[ Holy hell, how is a man who seems so astute in everything so... simple? How? Why? ]

It's a biblical thing! There's four horsemen who ride at the end of the world, representing war, famine, conquest [ or pestilence but apparently that's a more recent thing ], and death.

[ Might as well just explain the reference. ]
explosivecombat: (And that's verbatim)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-05 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that's interesting - something like your local mythology, then.

In that case, yes, that's more or less it.

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-10-05 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Folklore built upon the holy text from the God of my homeland, yes.

[ Not so much where she is now. But holy shit???

Wow.

She doesn't even know how to respond to that so much she's just going to keep on the Bible thing ]

There's a big elaborate end of the world in there.
explosivecombat: (I suppose that could be equally relevant)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-05 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
How big and elaborate, exactly...? Consider me curious.

[...Like, are we talking "I'm gonna create a massive magical circle that will absorb all the souls in the country so I can punch open the world's gate and eat God", or]
matchbreaker: (Depression News)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-10-05 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Well let me see here... there's a lot so I might not have the order right...

[ Cough and, ] So basically the horsemen I mentioned show up and bring about their represented destruction once the world's been subtly taken over by dark elements. Once they show up, all hell breaks loose? Their God's supposed to kill a good third or so of humanity and then all the vegetation of Earth, the oceans dry up... Oh there's also some giant monsters? Then an army of demons... oh, I think Satan's involved? Then some of their prophets and the son of their God comes back to conquer the men and the demons, making an ocean of blood which'll purify the world and make it paradise for anyone who swears fealty to them...?

Something like that, at least.
explosivecombat: (Pretty sure my whole brain is crying)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-10-05 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
[.............................]

That...seems impressive but horribly convoluted.

[THANKS, KIMBLEE.]
matchbreaker: (The Vision)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-10-05 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's a bit of a mess! There's sea monsters in there somewhere too, based on the paintings.
