don't wait for a knight in shinin' armor, your savior's reflected in the mirror

[That sure was a fucking thing. That execution was a fucking thing. Those secrets are a fucking thing.

Cabanela retreats to his room, but not for all that long. Everyone will get a note eventually, written in very neat handwriting

I do not plan on bowing down to threats and intimidation. If you did not act, it means you were, like me, aware of the risk, but decided against it. Your reasons are entirely your own.

Join me in the dining room if you agree enough is enough, and that you won't acquiesce to threats. I don't plan to let this stop me, and neither should you.

In the dining room itself, Cabanela has set up coffee and tea for those who want it-- there's no food, because to be honest, he doesn't know how to cook. Two more candles have been lit-- he wasn't really sure what to do about the whole... parasite thing... so Fern's candle will have to make due.]

I'm sure the people I'm aiding in this endeavor have their reasons like that. I don't know for certain; I've never really asked. It's possible that they just want to assert themselves.

[...]

My personal reasons are things I don't expect understanding for, however. Part of it has to do with the fact that humans are...ungrateful, in several ways. Complacent. Entitled. I want to see them move past that, and one way to do that is to force them to actually survive something that threatens their existence. So they can't just remain complacent with their superiority.

Part of it does have to do with the fact that they hate people like me for existing, however. Those that I'm working with understand me far more than humanity ever has; they allow me to express myself as I see fit, and offer me the personal freedom to exist in any way that I choose. It wasn't really an issue to throw my lot in with them.

[Tabby laughs. It's probably not the best reaction, but:]

Mutants are classified as Homo Superior in, like, sciencey terms. There's people that believe we're, like, the true evolution of humans or whatever but I don't know if we're any better than they are about, like, any of the things you said. At least we're not worse, though. Inhumans are, like, definitely worse.

Worse in what way...? If you don't mind my asking.
zomgboom: (say something interesting)

Inhumans are, like. [HOO BUDDY.] So mutants are just, like, to the left of regular humans? Even if we're blue or whatever, we're as related to humans as monkeys are and we're born this way. Inhumans are, like, the result of aliens messing around with humans and for the longest time they were all [bleeped for your sanity by the Beyond Corp.©] who thought they were better than everybody else but then the aliens came back and, like, made them into slaves so now they're trying to be less terrible but.

[S H R U G.]

They still act like they're entitled to [bleeped for your sanity by the Beyond Corp.©] just because they got their powers from aliens.
