[ Sometime shortly after the trial small notes will be folded underneath the doors of everyone still alive, and also posted to the staircase leading up to the upper floors. Not many of you have probably seen Elda's penmanship yet unless you checked that Penmanship check a while back, but it's impossibly impeccable fancy cursive script, to match with her old timey appearance. ... She also writes a lot more proper than she talks. ]

To My Fellows,

The half of you who didn't assist me in this are cordially invited to a celebration of our continued living, and to the memories of those who aren't. We are a mismatched group,
but it has become increasingly clear that we are together in this. Do not allow yourself to be alone.

We will be congregating in the ballroom for the rest of the night.

Better chefs than I will be providing food.

[ she's being somewhat facetious about half the group, but the fact does remain that she got more offers than she expected, when she set out to do this. She had expected that Sayaka would help, and indeed both her and Alex provide cookies and curry for the tables. Elda herself sets up the tables, dotting one longer central one made of smaller ones in the ballroom for things to sit on. The bulk of the food's provided by Tarrlok of all people, Chinese food by any other name. Susan, bless her, provides alcohol. Hibki, once she was clean, decided to run backup on preparing the food.

And then perhaps fittingly, Aligula provided the decorations. Steamers line the room, and little cut outs hang around. At Elda's instruction, it's a mix of cats, snakes, and bats. The majority of them have little faces on them. And finally, as and afterthought more than anything else, Elda makes some tea.

... Said tea is black tea and is impossibly dark and bitter because she can't taste it, but maybe that's what you want on a night like this. Who knows. ]

[Oh, he is definitely laughing it up, too.]

How unfortunate. Well, you only have yourself to blame for that.

[Way to rub it in, Rideaux!! But the drops hit him in the face like a second later, so it's instant karma. He snickers as he rubs them off with his hand, and finally gets up to retrieve a rag from the bar's counter. Once he has it, he tosses it to Yuri as he gets close to their table.]

Here, soak up what you can with that. I'll make you a new drink, then we may as well head back downstairs for the night.

[Since Yuri's obviously going to need to change now. Mixed drinks get sticky with all that syrup.]

I'd say I'm completely blameless here, actually.

[ He knows he's not judging by the smile on his face as he watches him rub off the alcohol, but ehh, he catches the rag and dabs at himself as much as he can. Well, that's not a bad end to the night, he thinks, since the picture still probably came out looking ridiculous. ]

... Hey, by the way. Just wanted to say thanks for indulging me a little in this stuff. It's been a rough night so it's made it kinda easier.

[ Yuri finally sets down the soaked rag, and leans against the counter. ]

[Sure, Yuri. Suuuure.

As Yuri starts cleaning himself off, Rideaux steps behind the counter to whip up a replacement drink. He's really liking these tequila sunrises tonight so Yuri will end up with one as well.

Plopping the grenadine into the mixture to finish it off, he glances at Yuri with an even smile. It probably looks kind of strange on him considering his default expressions are "smug as hell" and "pissed at the world".]

Of course, and I am glad to hear it. That was the goal.

[As...strange as that sounds to hear himself say...

He slides the finished drink to Yuri on the other side of the counter.]

Feel free to pull me aside if you find yourself in need of a distraction. I doubt I'll be busy.

[ Yuri will wait as Rideaux's mixing him a drink, seating himself back down; he leans on the counter, lightly moving his feet back and forth like they weren't in a draining trial not too long ago. It's probably because he's back in a good mood. Maybe that smile helps too.

He takes the drink and he begins to take a sip. ]

Yeah? Guess I'll just take that as an invitation to slip on by whenever and drag you around to do something stupid, then.

[ But, you know... ]

Same offer goes to you, y'know. I'm not a busy guy, so if you need anything, distraction or all that good stuff, just hunt me down. I'll be around.

[Rideaux laughs as he goes to retrieve his stuff from their previous table.]

Oh, dear. What I have signed myself up for?

[He legitimately doesn't doubt Yuri that they'll be doing stupid things, either. Yuri's just lucky that those stupid things have actually been pretty fun.

He returns to the counter and leans on it beside Yuri, holding his phone between them so they can actually look at their new photo before they head out. Honestly...it's very tempting to make this his new phone wallpaper.]

We'll hold each other to it, then.

[ Par for the course with Yuri--if he's ever lucky, it's because he's been doing something incredibly stupid just for fun. Now he's taking a good look at that photo, and...he snorts. ]

Hey, it came out looking as great as I thought it would. I didn't think we'd be able to top the first one, but I guess we managed, huh?

[evilfrenzy]

Really. [He gives Yuri an incredulous look, but it's playful.] I sincerely doubt that you actually expected to fumble your drink like an absolute professional.

That said, I...do find it highly entertaining. So yes, we did manage.
