Week 2.
Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. |

Everybody's been waiting their whole lives for this moment!
But we're not nervous at all.
When everyone puts their hearts together, they can't lose!
Now, human! Let's end this, right here, right now.
I'll show you how determined monsters can be!
Step forward when you're ready! Fuhuhuhu!"
But then...they just didn't attack. She was trying her hardest to fight them, they defended, pleaded to her to stop fighting them, tried to spare her...she just kept going. She had to do this. She had to, they were depending on her for this moment...
Undyne wakes up in shock, and just...kind of stares for a little bit. What the heck just happened? She had dreams, pretty often at that, but they were never usually this...real-seeming. It wasn't pleasant to think about--she remembered the kid, she was chasing after them before she got to this place--this makes...no sense. None.
She's going to try to shove it out of her mind. Maybe some tea could help...]
A. Library
[Well, the first thing she does is start exploring the new part of the building! She stops in the library first, mostly to check out the book selection; for the most part, she seems like she's trying out the books and trying to see if they've got any hidden buttons on them...
But eventually? She's just going to take a seat with her tea and read a few books. They're not like what she has at home, granted, but it's definitely something to do!
...She, uh, might've left a bit of a mess behind--the books are thankfully closed, but they're in small piles on the floor where they likely should be.
She'll get to them later. Maybe.]
B. Mail Room
[She hasn't actually gone in here, yet, mostly because she hasn't really seen the need for it. She thought they'd be out by now, she thought that things wouldn't get this real.
There's something she has to do here--maybe the Conductor can deliver this to the underground. He had to have gotten there to get her in the first place, right...?
If one catches her in here, they can find her with a couple of letters being written--there are envelopes addressed to people known as 'Alphys', 'Asgore', and 'Papyrus & Sans'.
She's going to be pretty deep in thought while she writes, doing her best to ensure that the letters are neatly written and concise. It's...going okay, at least. She's trying.]
library
Hey, fish lady. Anything worth reading in here?
[ And then.... there's this fuck. ]
no subject
Yeah, there's a great one called I Have A Name; you should probably look into it.
[There are admittedly worse things she could've been called, but dammit, she will not be sassed by a kid today.]
If you want me to be honest, though? No. These books are about as boring as watching ice melt!
no subject
[ That's not a name either dammit. But he actually does retain a lot from reading the profiles, just... not names. ]
And man, that fucking blows. What kinda stuff were you looking for, anyway?
no subject
...Close enough, though you're gonna sound like the Conductor if you keep using it.
[She'll fold the edge of the page she left off at and take a sip of tea, in the meantime.]
You're telling me--I was trying to look to see if they had any kind of buttons or some crap hidden in these books! If there were any places to hide a secret, the library seems like an obvious place to start, but...
[She angrily gestures to the books. Look at this shit. Look at all of this shit.
Ain't nobody got time for that!]
no subject
I mean, it's that or fish lady.
[ SORRY HE SUCKS AT NAMES... ]
Maybe there's like, some kind of secret code shit going on with them, but man. That sounds like a job for bookworm type nerds to do.
no subject
I find it kinda hard to believe you can remember a nine letter title but not a six letter name--but it's Undyne! Maybe that'll be easier.
[...That probably came off really condescending, but surprisingly she didn't. Quite mean it like that. ...Oops.]
Maybe, but that's just an excuse for being lazy to me! Sometimes you just have to take a mystery by the horns and keep going until you hit something.
library
Do you plan on putting all of those back?
[He doesn't sound like he's attempting to scold her or anything though, it's just a question.]
no subject
Maybe. Who knows? Maybe the Conductor will trip and fall on his face and decide we aren't worth the trouble anymore--it's worth a try, at least.
[...She probably will, knowing herself, though.
She does note the book in his hands, though, peering at it.]
Where did you find that one?
no subject
[Someone else is going to trip and die and that'll just be sad.]
Ah, I received this one from the machine.
[...He's not going to elaborate on that and he's not going to let her take the book, but uh. There's that.]
no subject
[Oh, she's not going to press if he doesn't want her to. She just wanted to see what she could glean from where she was.
Still, she's going to close her book and look right at him.]
Are you really certain that everything is going to fall apart without your friend around?
[It likely isn't her place to ask, and she knows that. But what she saw during the trial was...kind of disturbing and it's left her wondering, to say the least.]
no subject
...I am, yes. We are-- were the only two people to know of the threat facing Albion. Alerting the country is impossible; it would cause a wide-spread panic, assuming anyone believed me in the first place.
[Either he's a really incompetent king or we're facing something unbelievable, take your pick.]
no subject
[She's not sure what else to say, really--her only experience with this is Asgore and the situation with their kind and humanity, but even then...
Everyone's standing together. Everyone wants the same thing, and they truly want the best and have faith in their king. Maybe her world's just too blithe, in that sense.]
no subject
[...And also the people of Albion are hella stupid, but that's not the point!]
no subject
Do you really think that keeping people in the dark will save them?
[...The irony of those words kind of dawn on her, if her eyes widening are any indication, but she'll keep it to herself. She's not accusing, but...it's clear she doesn't understand something here.]
I understand wanting to protect everyone, but keeping them like that...won't it just hurt them even worse if they don't know anything?
no subject
[...you'd think someone would have told them this was a terrible idea. But nahhhh.]
As it stands they cannot know, because they will never believe me. The only person who did was--
[...]
--Someone who had been there, someone who had seen it.
no subject
[She listens to him while he talks--she kind of wonders why his sister isn't at least in on this, because that's his sibling, right? She should be closer to him than anyone else. Even closer than Reaver, if anything. What was that phrase? Blood is thicker than water?
Still, she sees that he seems convinced of this. She doesn't really know what to make of it, but...]
What makes it so unbelievable, that you're willing to believe they'll just try to brand you a madman?
[She's just not sure what she's staring at here, other than a sad, sad man who apparently has to bear all of this shit by himself now.]
no subject
...As I've said, it's not something any of them can imagine facing. I'm afraid I can't tell you any more than that.
[His hands are shaking badly and he's trying very hard to hide how messed up he is. He couldn't talk about it in the trial - he couldn't even let Reaver talk about it - so discussing it now... he can't do it.]
no subject
[She knew it was a bad subject, certainly, but...god.
She'd been trying to ignore the shitshow that the trial was, but she wanted to remain optimistic that...well, maybe this could actually be believable to people outside of the circumstance. When she sees that, though...
It's disturbing, to say the least, and Undyne turns away.]
I am so sorry, Logan.
no subject
[why can't he get the shaking under control--]
It's been years, I shouldn't be...
[useless, useless, useless]
I'm alright.
[he'll never be able to defend Albion like this--]

library
Are you a quick reader, or were you just looking for soooomething in particular?
no subject
She is washing her hands of these books.
Still, Undyne looks up and laughs.]
Fuhuhu! Well, I was hoping to find a book with some kind of button hidden in it, but I'm putting that on hold for the time being. Even I can't check every book in one day.
[Lest the library become a war zone...]
no subject
Fight the power, screw The Man!]
It wooould be like this place for there to be a hidden switch around here. Just like in the movies.
no subject
[She appreciates this like hell, man, you get it. Even if it's cliche as hell, hey, maybe the Conductor appreciates cliches!! Maybe.
She doubts it but it's the best she's got.]
He definitely built this place big enough for one. If anything, I kind of want to climb on the shelves and see if there's anything interesting--mechanisms, doors, something!
[...She kind of lights up when she brings that up. Would the Conductor even allow this level of stupidity to happen?]
no subject
[The Conductor might now allow this level of stupid to happen, but Cabanela is having the time of his life right now thinking about making an utter mess for the Conductor.]
