Week 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. Ugh, I know. We could be anywhere, and the people looking for us will just take longer to arrive!

...If we're stuck here, something tells me waiting on people to come from back home isn't the smartest course of action. Unless someone perfected inter-dimensional travel somewhere.

Unfortunately not where I come from. And I don't want to wait on any sort of person who could possibly miss Mr. Sanchez.

Sanchez...ah, the one who threatened to murder us. I'm almost surprised he wasn't our first culprit...

I'm not sure what happened, either. He might just be all talk. Either way, he's an absolute nuisance.

Most people here are, it'd seem.

I know. That bartender! He was making a fuss over nothing today at the machine and demanding that everyone give him their weapons if they had any. As if we'd all trust him with them!

There's no one here we can trust but ourselves. That's just the way it is.

Trust again... I suppose we've already failed, and that's why we didn't go home after convicting somebody. I don't know. It's far too complicated and we know we don't have all the pieces to begin with.

You really think this is going to end with just one casualty?

I mean, I hope you're right, but that's such wishful thinking it hurts.

Two, technically. I'd thought that convicting someone would end the exercise, but apparently not. There must be some other condition, and all we can do is hope that it isn't "everyone else has killed one another off."

If there is, our gracious host has neglected to tell us...

That wouldn't be the first thing he hasn't.

It's a real goddamn issue. I feel like a more comprehensive version of the rules might be necessary...

And for some reason, that's one thing he won't give. It's tiring, that's what it is...

Everything about this place is tiring. There's no way he'd make things easy for us...

But I suppose complaining won't get us anywhere.

Unfortunately. I do wish we had more of a clue. Maybe there is something up here.

We should explore a bit. See if any of these god-awful knockoffs can tell us anything..

Messages in the books, you mean? It's as good as anything.

Something like that. I was thinking maybe these books can tell us about the world we're in right now. The world the Conductor comes from.

I suppose. They're definitely not from home, after all.
