Week 2.

WEEK 2

Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process.

(As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.)

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 27

Is there some problem with it?

[Dio didn't even look up from whatever he was reading, leaning his head on one hand.]

I'll admit it's not what I'd hoped for, but I can tolerate it.
oftheland: so. crass. (carr why do you exist)

Well, I'll admit, it probably comes down to having unusual tastes. I was really hoping to read up on whatever scientific capabilities this place might have, or anything scientific in general... but there's basically nothing of the sort. It's all fiction, and fiction tends to bore me easily, I'm afraid.
midnightsea: (race for the morning)

[personal profile] midnightsea 2015-11-09 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
How unfortunate. Although I think there's a good reason for that--provided with too much information about this place's capabilities, I think a skilled enough individual would be able to place our general time period and even location.
oftheland: (though... you'd be the best admin)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-11-09 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
No... as much as I dislike it, that's definitely the reason it's been arranged that way. I guess it might be possible to figure a thing or two out by looking through all the fiction, but the only thing I've learned from that so far is something I suspected anyway.
midnightsea: (oh we will pray it's all right)

[personal profile] midnightsea 2015-11-09 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? And what suspicion would that be?
oftheland: (so fuck it.)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-11-10 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well... first off, barring a few coincidences, it's fairly clear that we're all here from different universes. That would usually be a bit difficult to accept... but, well...

Imagine something that isn't necessarily essential for your continued survival... yet it's so omnipresent that when you encounter a place that doesn't have it or people who don't know about it, the absence feels... a bit indescribable, really.

[Dio actually glanced up at that, watching Giovanni with sharp red-orange eyes.]

I can perhaps imagine the concept, I think. So what is it in particular that you're missing so much?
oftheland: so. crass. (carr why do you exist)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-11-10 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
In my world, we have creatures called Pokemon --- they're basically like your... animals, I suppose? Although, I'd say they're a little more varied and a little more interesting, from the impressions I've gotten. They've got a wide variety of abilities and uses, and they can be captured and trained very easily, to the point where it's strange to see someone who doesn't even have one around the house.

Here, plenty of people have never even heard of them, I can't even find one mention of them in any of the books I've seen. It's all very bizarre.

That pink thing that girl had was one of them, wasn't it?

[seriously, what the HELL was up with that]

I've never seen anything like it myself, either.
oftheland: (ahahahaha oh wow)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-11-10 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. ...I really find it amusing that a lot of people are having their first Pokemon experience with a Ditto of all things, because they're not typical in the slightest.

You can't use the majority of them as underwear, for one.
midnightsea: (the eyes of a cat in the black and blue)

[personal profile] midnightsea 2015-11-10 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I would certainly hope not, that was horrendous.

What would be typical of them, if not that?
oftheland: (unlimited smug works)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-11-11 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Well, she's always been pretty creative. It's unorthodox, but I can't say I don't respect innovation.

...actually, it's hard to say what is typical. Well, Ditto's odd in that its ability is to change its form to mimic anything its wants. Most of them have more of a solid set of skills. I guess for the most part they'd resemble the animals you're familiar with, although some do resemble inanimate objects and there are quite a few that are essentially mobile, sentient plants.
