Week 2.
Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. |

He looks down to Morty and gives a sad little nod, clearing his throat. He's not going to cry in front of this kid, so help him god. Marty swallows hard, before daring to open his mouth. ] Yeah. That's the Doc there. [ He points with his thumb. ] He was a really good guy.

I don't remember what happened with this. But it's good to see him again.

Man, y'know.. I-I wish there was a way to at least talk to our families and friends back home, even just a letter or something would be nice.

I heard we can send letters but I don't know if they'll actually go out or not. [ Marty lowers the picture. ] Not sure the Conductor or whatever would want us to talk to our folks or anything.
[ Marty doesn't mean to change the subject so quick; there's a question that's been nagging at him, and he wants to answer. Since people seem to get them confused a lot. ]
So Rick's your grandpa, right? Where's your parents?

Oh uh, yeah he's my grandpa. And my parents are probably back home, w-with everyone else. [Kind of a weird question to ask when the answer was so obvious.]

I mean, uh. What are they like? [ He tries to smooth thing out, because it's necessary. Very Necessary. ] Do they know about...? [ Rick and his boozing, with the habit of being a jerk. ] ...him?

Yeah, they know. H-he's the same way to everyone in our family, we're just kinda used to it at this point.

I mean, it's okay I guess. He's a dick but he's not that much of a dick when you get to know him better? I-I mean the other day he actually sacrificed himself for me when one of our adventures got a little... i-it messed up. [Well, 1/64th of Rick did. But that's a little too convoluted to go into with Marty..]

He listens, but it's hard not to judge. It wasn't like Marty had a lot of experience with drunken assholes (except for Biff when he decided to visit?), but knowing that Rick was an asshole to this poor kid didn't settle well with him. ]
What, you mean when we first got here? Or are we talkin' about something that happened before?

W-we uh.. we froze time for six months, and after we unfroze it our own time was messed up. S-so we ended up splitting into different timelines? And we had to use these collar things to put it all back together, like we had to make sure we were in sync with all the other timelines and put them on at the same time. A-and for some reason, one of my collars was broken, and I ended up losing it - so - so I couldn't fix myself before I completely disappeared. [Boy, he's shit at explaining things.]
Oh right uh, if we didn't fix our time then we would've disappeared. [Should've said that earlier..]
A-anyway! My collar was gone and Rick was gonna fix it, but instead he gave me his and saved me. A-and I thought he wasn't going to come back after that but I guess he found and fixed it anyway.

[ Marty hasn't told Morty about his adventures through time, has he? In a way he kind of does now...except for the part where his mom had a huge crush on him and everything. He was too young for all of that shit. ]
My friend came up with a time machine. I tried to hide it from everyone when we first got here, but...[ He shrugs. ] Guess it's not gonna matter, right?

Wait, s-seriously? [Morty looks absolutely floored.]
I - R-Rick's been trying to make a time machine, but he can't figure out how any of it works! [The idea of someone out there being able to do something science related that Rick couldn't... it's actually hard to imagine.]

It's kind of good to know someone that's intersted in time travel though, even if Morty's a little tiny. ] Man, I wish the Doc was here to talk to ya. He actually understands what it all means.
He got it to work with a Flux Capacitor. It's this little thing that, ah. Uhh. [ what does it do exactly? ]
It makes time travel possible. That's about it.

A.. Flux Cap - Capacitor? [He sounds confused, his expression even looks kind of like he was but then he decides that he doesn't want to look dumb in front of Marty, so it quickly changes to a smile.]
O-ohh, a Flux Capacitor! Y-yeah, we totally have one of those, too. B-but Rick never thought to use it for that!
Huh, the things you learn by talking to other fellow scientists!

Marty's eyes go wide when Morty mentions that Rick has one of those too! Now that he thinks about it, there's a lot alike between the two of them, right? Marty, Morty. Both have a scientist friend, both interested in time travel, both have flux capacitors..something's kind of up. ]
He thought of it too? Did he get the idea from slippin' on a toilet seat?

My Doc was hanging a clock in his bathroom and knocked his head on the toilet! This, this is heavy. [ Marty is way too excited right now because Morty's a pretty cool kid, y'know? ]
