Week 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. It's like she spoke a different language. Marty automatically smiles, but he's unsure whether to tell a big ass lie or just say he didn't know. A hand rubs the back of his head.

Yeah, I read that stuff all the time. We had an assignment in school and I got hooked.

That so? I'm impressed that your school teaches Nietzche; his work is generally college-level. You must have had a good teacher.

A bit depressing to get hooked on it, though, isn't it?

[ Oh Jesus! Marty gives her a smile that either says 'i'm embarrassed' or 'i'm lying off my ass'. ] Y-yeah, I guess. She just taught us about it so much it just stuck with me, I guess.

I see...do you have a favorite work of his, then?

N-not really! Everything he makes is my favorite. I mean, there's not really anything I don't like.

...You don't have to lie to impress me, kid. Everyone knows Aphorisms of Love and Hate is a clusterfuck.

Aphorisms of Love and Hate. It's basically, like, 80 pages of him being a complete dick. Shit like, "Love is the state in which man sees things most decidedly as they are not."

...Though I suppose I can see his reasoning.

I read all kinds of stuff. Especially from my fellow German philosophers. You have to be proud of your roots.

Fellow German philosophers...? So you're a philosopher? Jesus, doesn't that drive you nuts?

That's because you're into philosophy, right?

I've thought people were all ridiculous even before I started taking philosophy, but, I suppose the philosophy doesn't exactly help much.
