trustfell | Week 2.

WEEK 2
Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process.

(As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.)

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done.

I hope I can make something for everybody by the time we escape!

[she looks a little distracted for a moment, then shakes her head, her expression just a bit more serious than usual.]

Logan-sama, may I ask you something? I feel like you're a good person to ask. [she doesn't want to worry the children, if it's only her...]

[Ah, that... is a little awkward, isn't it?]

Did you, um... have a dream, last night? Except, it wasn't a dream, but something that really happened, that you'd forgotten about?

I had a very odd dream, but I don't believe it could have been something I've forgotten. What was your dream about?

Well, my daughter had brought home a friend from school before I came here. This girl was really brave-- she even saved her life!-- but was going through a very tough time... Apparently, the girl that rules over us all killed her father! Isn't that sad? But, what's even sadder...

I'd forgotten that poor Ryuuko-chan even existed! It's so mean of me, to do something like that! I'm going to write her a letter later, apologizing!

[...Your queen?? He has no idea what sort of place you live in, but that's not the most pressing thing right now.]

Are you sure that was a memory and not a dream?

[Do you just have really bizarre dreams like that?? Probably not, since you're assuming it's a memory, but his own dream was so weird and he really, really doesn't want to think it was a suppressed memory or something.]

No way! There's no way I could dream up someone as important to me as Ryuuko-chan! It was real!

[...Okay then. You know what, he'll believe you on that.]

In that case, what could have happened to cause you to lose that memory? Do you remember waking up here with any unexplained injuries?

[Cabanela had a broken arm and ribs, but what about everyone else? Is Sukuyo the only one missing memories?]

No, not a thing... But, I don't think Rakka-chan woke up hurt, either, and she doesn't even remember who or what she is! Maybe that's why we don't have injuries like the others...

Maybe Conductor-san did it to put us all on a more even playing field! Being hurt is a little like losing your memories, isn't it? [no, it's not.]

That's... an interesting idea.

I wasn't injured and I don't have any missing memories, however.

[Not that he's aware of, at least. That must have been a dream, right? Why on earth would he be so adamant about executing Swift otherwise?]
