WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. Yeah, well, you'd have to be an idiot to do it. I-it's such an easy thing to do. Like, any...any basic scientist with a decent amount of time and organic tissue can make themselves a proverbial Frankenstein's Monster. It's not hard. Don't be a bitch.

B-basically? I got a buncha versions of me in my lab that don't have shriv-[urp]-eled wrinkly dicks so, you know, that's a thing. I can transfer my consciousness around like a fuckin' Bop-It.

I heard of a science gun switchin' minds, but not between a dead body and a non-body. Is that a similar concept?

I-t's sort of like like that. You transfer your consciousness to an inactive host a-and there, you're basically inheriting their youth but keeping the mind intact.

Now your grandson. He got some backup bodies like you?

See, the thing is, in theory, if I wanted a new Morty, I c-could just travel to a universe that has a new Morty, right? D-don't see the point in making a backup for him.

[He has absolutely invented immortality, dude. Don't hate.]

But it ain't the same Morty! [He slams a palm on the table for emphasis.] Whoever you find, he's don't got the same memories as this one does, not the bond you forged together! You can't replace family like that!
