Week 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. I'm the only one in the world who can pilot it. No one else can do the things I do. So I'm...very, very proud to have the position I do. That I can do something that I can call my own.

...I understand that entirely.

[He's got some Issues there, but he can certainly see why she would be proud of that.]

Do you believe everything will be alright while you remain here?

I don't know. I'm trying my best to hold out hope that my coworkers can hold down the fort until I get back. But I'm not sure what's going on and, frankly, it bothers me.

But I'm not so desperate to know that I'm going to murder someone, honestly. I'm alive right now. My top priority right now is that I don't want to die.

[decrees]

Ah, I didn't mean to imply...

[Dammit. Logan stops playing and looks sort of awkward about that.]

My apologies. I was merely curious; I do not believe you'll kill anyone.

[Not after what happened. Taking a risk like that is stupid.]

[crimsonchin]

You really think that? I would've thought people would assume I'd be one of the first to snap.

[decrees]

You're smart; you've seen how this game is played and moving while knowing just how high the stakes are... I can't see you being rash enough to attempt it when it could result in death.

...Of course I'll be severely disappointed if you prove me wrong.

[WOW WAS THAT A JOKE, WHO KNEW LOGAN HAD A SENSE OF HUMOR and that it's black as hell]

At this stage, the only way to really win is not to play, isn't it? That goes double for you, though. I'd hate to see us lose such a critical piece on our chessboard due to a careless move, after all.

[decrees]

[And that... actually gets him to sort of smile. It's awkward as hell, but he's trying.]

I can assure you, I will not do anything to endanger the group.

[Ah, speaking of that--]

I wanted to thank you for what you said on Morty's note. I hadn't considered many of the points you raised. I never intended to take control of this group. To be perfectly honest, I'm pleased I am not needed to lead us.

[He's exhausted enough from worrying about Albion and the six million dumbasses he has to protect.]

I know you didn't. But that's kind of the risk that comes from having someone selected as the leader; having one of us be an authority figure could have more cons than pros, especially if something happens. But I did really appreciate the attempt to get everyone organized, even though I don't necessarily like crowds. ...Or people, generally.

I figured you wouldn't want that weight on your shoulders, though. It's a tough burden to bear.

[decrees]

It is. In a situation like this... I am not sure how well I could handle the stress.

[He can barely manage to keep himself together in Albion and after everything that happened in that trial...]

I'm very pleased we have so many people willing to discuss this instead of leaping into rash decisions. It has been quite some time since I have worked with others instead of leading them.

[It's a very nice change.]

Honestly? I'd keep watching. The Conductor wouldn't have put out a motive like that if he didn't think it would get to someone. We should keep staying on guard, at least until he tries a different tactic.

[decrees]

Indeed. If this doesn't work I imagine he'll resort to threats.

[...Someone's probably going to turn up dead anyway.]

Let's just see how things are at the end of the week, and then we'll figure out what to do from there.
