Week 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. Yes, I do.

[He'll leave it at that though.]

He did. Mother always said he wanted nothing to do with it and was dragged in anyway, but she was always hard on him.

He was one of her favorite people, however.

[She was kind of an asshole who really liked teasing people, okay.]

Huh, really?

[ Did she buy his house and refuse to give the deed back... Anyway, it looks like the photo has been printed; she holds it out for Logan to see, and it's so much better than the one she took with the toy camera. The colours are a bit faded, though, which makes it look a little old. ]

[decrees]

[OF COURSE SHE DID

Logan pauses when Chie holds out the photo and he reaches out to take it. Wow, that's... really impressive.]

This technology is incredible... I can see why you're so interested in it.

[It's kind of surreal to see a picture of him that isn't a painting that he had buried in the backyard for some reason.]

[shuttermouse]

[ Chie watches his expression with interest; it's fun to see how someone from a place without cameras would react to this sort of thing. ]

If I die, you can have it.

[decrees]

Ah... There's no need for that.

[That catches him off-guard, but Logan's reaction is subdued. He doesn't look distressed or anything, just sort of baffled.]

Making plans of that sort... It shouldn't be necessary.

[...It is of course, but that's kind of blunt, Chie.]

[shuttermouse]

[ ...Chie is a blunt person, Logan. ]

It shouldn't, but it is. I could die here any day.

[decrees]

...Any of us could, yes.

[As much as he hates to admit that, it is true.]

There really isn't any point in pretending otherwise.

[shuttermouse]

Exactly. It'd be great if nobody killed again, but I'm not an optimistic person.

[decrees]

There's no point in hoping for the best in a situation like this. If any of us get out at all, I sincerely doubt we'll have even half of our current number.

[There are twenty-seven of them now. If even five make it out that'll be impressive. The Conductor isn't going to let anyone go though, Logan's certain of that.]

[shuttermouse]

Our odds aren't good at all. [ And she suspects her odds are a little lower than the others; she's small, and she knows she would be an easy victim. ]

But we'll have to try to persevere anyway. I'm not going to just lay down and die.

[decrees]

[Thank you for not saying that, at least...]

Of course not. That would be ridiculous. We've come this far; we cannot allow the Conductor to win.

[It would be awful if he died after sacrificing Reaver.]
