WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. [Even with everything going on, still, her automatic reaction:]

[She wraps her arms a bit tighter around plush Zwei.]

That, uh, doesn't m- matter right now.

[She won't push, but that doesn't sound like 'just friends'.]

[Right, dropping the subject.]

[She sniffs. She hopes she'll find him. After all this- she hopes so much-]

...Th- the point is. I'm alive and...J-Josh is dead. Because Chris chose me.

...what in the world happened in your world?

[Weiss immediately regrets saying that.]

I'm sorry, that just - I wasn't thinking. I know the whole thing must have been awful, and I can't imagine having to make a choice like that.

...he must really care about you, though.

[Ashley's voice hitches.] It wasn't supposed to be like this, w-we were supposed to h-have fun and relax! Th- this was all supposed to be for Josh, and now- oh God, h- he-- he and Ch-Chris were best friends.

[He must really care about her. It's sick that she takes comfort in that.]

[What kind of sick person would make someone else make a choice like that? At least this time, Weiss holds her tongue.]

That's so many kinds of wrong, I...

[She shakes her head.]

...I'm sorry that any of that happened.

[She loosens her grip, resting her head on the top of the plush.]

S- so am I. More than a-anything. God... I- I can't... [Can't think of anything else to say, right now.]

[A pause.]

I'm being serious when I say that you're handling this really, really well. You're stronger than you think.

[She just sniffs, looks at the floor. That's definitely not the opinion she has about all of this...but it's nice to hear.]
