Week 9.

WEEK 9 With another death to the timer and another double murder - accidental though that last part may have been - your numbers have been cut even further. Hibiki Ganaha, Sayaka Maizono, Alex, and Kyrie Ushiromiya are all dead, bringing those left alive from twelve down to eight. It's almost hard to believe this started with thirty-five people. There are so few of you now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... It seems that the pattern from last week is holding; there is no new floor to occupy yourselves with. It doesn't seem much else has changed, either - leading to questions that are uncomfortable but must be confronted. Namely, where do you go from here? Is there anything you can do? [ SUE ME but yeah it was and she looks surprised for a moment before she smirks with appreciation of the fact that she was right. Elda hands off whatever she collected and leave herself with just the Alex note. ]

I agree-- we don't have the advantage, but we have enough time on our hands.

We'll stop him, we must. Too many people have died because of his organization of his, a number that goes far beyond just the people who have died in our group.

[She shrugs, lightly.]

I bet, but that's still stupid. If you didn't get hurt I'd hit your arm.

[ Maybe she's just Mad. ]

... Heh, thanks. Guess I'll read it later.

[ He'll take it, though he'll look a little sheepish as he does. Since he did exactly that not exactly too long ago. ]

... At the time I don't think I even knew what bloodbending was when it came out and I kind of thought it was dumb as hell to even worry about who was born from what.

[ ... Like, really. ]

As for that other thing, I didn't know the circumstances of that [ Of Tarrlok being "responsible" for his brother's death. ] and Jericho had been twisting the words in some of those secrets, so, y'know.

...I actually kinda thought you might've kicked my ass, but I sure as hell wasn't about to give up that easy.

[ He's smiling a little. ]

Anyway, I guess I will. The game was pretty fun too.

[ Yuri had no issue with anyone coming along for the ride home -- well, unless that person who wanted to come along was an absolute redeemable asshole but he doubted anyone like that would want to go all the way to his place anyway. He, also on the contrary, doesn't think it's all that much to take anyone in -- he's certainly done it before at various points in time. That's part of how Brave Vesperia was formed, after all.

There's a pause in those thoughts though, as he notices how happy Rideaux is. After everything that Rideaux has told him, after everything they've experienced... it feels good to see that just by those words (and presumably his actions), he's done something evidently big in a positive way for him. ]

Brave Vesperia is always looking for new reliable members, so we'd be glad to have you aboard -- 'course this'll mean I'll have to introduce you to the Boss and everyone else back home so you can get acquainted with 'em real well.

[ Yuri then gives a pause, reaching a hand to rub at the back of his head a little. He's still smiling, though it's a bit more subdued, but not in a bad way. He can't tell if he feels embarrassed or perhaps humbled -- he can't remember the last time anyone would wish for them to have his 'blessing' on anything. ]

Heh, well, I think you've done more than enough for those bastards back home, and you deserve a chance to start over and this time actually live your own life without being bound to anyone else. A life where you're actually able to be happy.

I don't think I need to say that you've gotten my 'blessing' or anything like that either. Not when I've made it clear I'm more than willing to welcome you back home.

[ Though he'll give him a playful nudge. ]

[To be fair to him, Alex's is in a sealed envelope, whereas the letter Hibiki wrote her was opened, and on top of the other stack of papers. It was a little unavoidable, Rin just doesn't know how to address those feelings right now. She has a lot on her mind, actually.

...cue awkward silence.]

[heritrix]

It's generally frowned upon to go around hitting people anyways; not even I do that.

[Unless it's Hollow Ataraxia, then she'll lay you flat.]

[matchbreaker]

I'm a vampire, it's not like the police can even catch me. ... Or these Mage Association guys.

[ I mean Jericho did, but. ]

[hesperos]

[ It's funny and ironic but 'not knowing how to address feelings like those' are also something they have in common. It might not help that they're all stuck in a murdergame when stuff like this is happening but hey.

Yuri doesn't let the awkward silence last very long because as soon as it becomes apparent, he's gonna ask -- ]

...You gonna be okay?

[hesperos]

...That's the spirit. I'm sure we're not going to take anymore of his crap lying down.

[ And you know what-- ]

Why don't you give one here?

[ He'll raise his hand up. Give him a high-five, Cabanela! ]

[There's not another option. She won't let herself not be okay.

I meant what I said back there at the trial, you know. It might take a while before I'm able to come back to Japan, but someday I'll definitely have Hibiki show me Okinawa.

It's the common courtesy of it.

Oh don't you tell me off.

[ But she does look a little apologetic. Maybe. She laughs it off and stands, dusting herself off as she does. ]

... Even so, I'm sorry you're still in a pickle like that. I'm irritated on your behalf.

Heh, alright.

[ They do need to be able to keep it together. Especially right now -- either way, he seems satisfied with Rin's answer. Enough not to poke or prod, anyway.

Might as well stop standing around and get moving then, right?

[It goes fine until he has to pick up anything heavy, like a pot of water or a pan full of food. That's when he struggles.]

[That is quite the combination. Luca definitely does notice the different ingredients too, especially the ones to treat maladies and the ones that are toxic.]

I would hope that Adelina doesn't have to face tragedy later.

Likewise. But then, no quest like that can fail to include tragedy. If people are happy, then they have no reason to set out, right?

No, but it's much better when those quests end happily.
