Week 9.

WEEK 9 With another death to the timer and another double murder - accidental though that last part may have been - your numbers have been cut even further. Hibiki Ganaha, Sayaka Maizono, Alex, and Kyrie Ushiromiya are all dead, bringing those left alive from twelve down to eight. It's almost hard to believe this started with thirty-five people. There are so few of you now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... It seems that the pattern from last week is holding; there is no new floor to occupy yourselves with. It doesn't seem much else has changed, either - leading to questions that are uncomfortable but must be confronted. Namely, where do you go from here? Is there anything you can do? [Take your time, take your time! He's going to be cooking the soup slowly, so he doesn't interrupt Tarrlok. So it'll be a good thirty minutes later or so before he returns to the room, bowl of soup in hand, knocking on the door.]

...yes, that's probably a good thing. I probably wouldn't have taken it well myself, though...

[phew. okay. he managed a shower, so while he is soggy when he opens the door, he at least looks a little refreshed.]

[Because oof, whatever he remembered must have been a doozy.

He offers the soup to Tarrlok, even if his smile is a little fixed.]

[He takes it, clears a place on his desk, and sits down to start on it.]

You can come in again, if you'd like.

[He'll come in, then, smiling and looking like he's doing his best to keep the mood up all by himself.]

We don't have many opportunities here to calm our minds.

Both from what's happened here and what happened at home.

...yes. If it's not one thing, it's the other, and it's usually both.

That's certainly true.

It's bizarre for us to have lost our memories in the first place, and the fact that we did in the first place...

[Well. None of the implications are all unsettling.]

It's hard to say it would be better if I remembered everything from the start, but... well. Who knows.

....for a number of us, I'm sure it wouldn't have made the situation good.

No. It really wouldn't have.

I imagine some of their little incentives wouldn't actually work that well, though.

I'm sure they would have come up with others.

Second chances at life, rewriting past sins... things like that.

Well, thinking about it, they already did offer things like those. I guess the context would just be different.

Probably. Though the fact that most people didn't act on the incentives at all made things a little complicated.

[bloodisthicker]

Well, yes, but the incentives are immaterial as long as someone dies, aren't they?

...True enough.

We still lost most of our number.

We did, yes. But that was going to happen regardless unless we escaped.

...That much is certainly true.

We're not really intended to win here, is the thing.

Still.... there must be a way to stop them.

Well, if there isn't, I suppose it was nice knowing you.
