There was a farm that had a dog
[Throughout the day on Monday, everyone still left in the building will find a handwritten invitation delivered to them at some point or another, along with a bonus sheet of paper.
There aren't any decorations upstairs, but there will be food and drink as promised, and lots of variety. Curry, soup and sandwiches, parfaits, homemade potato chips, a cheese plate; Rin went all out. For sweets, there's chocolate chip cookies and a lemon meringue pie, with milk or juice (that looks like it was made from scratch) to wash it down with. Alcohol too, if that's your thing. There's even a bloody mary for Elda, somehow.
As you might guess from the invitation, the bonus piece of paper delivered with the invites is a blank bingo sheet! Whether it's when the invites are delivered or when they come to the party, Rin will give everyone instructions on how to fill it out, and how the game is played.

- Fill out the sheet with 24 simple facts about yourself! They should be anything you're comfortable sharing with others, and most importantly they must be true
- Share sheets with one another! If you have something in common with what's on another person's sheet, you can sign off on that square.
- Players may sign up to two squares on one another's sheets, but only two! Normally you'd only collect a single signature, but this is a small group.
- When one row has five signatures horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, that's a BINGO!
- Whoever has the most BINGOs at the end of the night wins!

The Second Magic, to be precise, which is definitely in my wheelhouse of interests. The man who introduced magecraft to my family all those centuries ago is the only known wielder of it in the modern world.

Honestly, I'm not even sure if magic works in the same way that our spells do, for that purpose. Even if he did, he wasn't the Tohsakas genetic ancestor. The way we pass down our knowledge and spells is very precise; it's more like transplanting an organ. It has to be done with a blood relative, and even then the Magic Crest might reject the new host if it's not a perfect match.
[She's rolling up the sleeve of her left arm as she says all of this.]

Spells can be taught to people the old-fashioned way. So long as they have the talent for it and you're selective, it's common to take apprentices and pass down the art.
But it's like anything you learn; it can take years or even a lifetime of study to reach the pinnacle of your career. In the world of mages, preserving your magic is more important than preserving your life; they found ways to ensure not only that, but that their children could immediately pick up where they left off. That's how Magic Crests came about.
[As she says this, something interesting will happen with her left arm. At first the skin looks bare, but a moment later lines begin to form, etched on all sides of her forearm from the length of her wrist, to her elbow. Like an intricate, glowing tattoo that seems to be lighting up from under her skin rather than over it.]
All of the magical knowledge my ancestors acquired and the spells they created; all of them are inside of this.

I see, now I understand. So each generation of your family builds upon the work of the previous, and you've got several centuries' worth of progress to work with. That's... That is certainly something.

Though I have to say, I am surprised that it seems to be fully functional in this place. Or is that not the case?

Oh, far from it. Getting the Magic Crest to glow like this so I could confirm it was still in my body is the only thing I can manage. Normally I'd be able to access the spells or knowledge in there just by thinking about it, but I haven't been able to do that since I arrived. It's like being locked out of my own library.

Being locked out...that is a good way to phrase it. I have felt similarly about my Chromatus. I've had my watch back for the longest time, but I still can't use it.
[Not that he has any desire to, but he'd like to at least know it's there in a pinch.]

[He reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a pocketwatch. It has a clockwork gear design etched into it; a symbol of the spirit that the ability came from. As he shows it to Rin, he considers the fact that he's never actually...presented it like this to anyone yet. He never liked the idea of people having that information. But now that he has all of his memories back, and after Rin showed him her Crest, he's loosened up on it.]
Strange as it may sound, when I said I was born with the Chromatus, I meant it quite literally. I was born with this watch. It's the telltale sign of a Chromatus bearer, though my family did not know that at the time. I only discovered its use after I was taken in by Spirius Corporation.

Something like the former. It has trickled down the Kresnik bloodline for centuries, producing an actual Chromatus bearer every so often along the way. It happens more often for direct descendants; my family was distantly related.
