[Throughout the day on Monday, everyone still left in the building will find a handwritten invitation delivered to them at some point or another, along with a bonus sheet of paper.

Hey, everyone. It's been quiet around here lately, so let's keep our spirits up and have some fun! The sun might not be shining, but we still have a great view of the stars, and somewhere warm to watch them from. Food and drink will be provided, so just bring yourself (and your bingo sheet!), and we'll enjoy each other's company.

There aren't any decorations upstairs, but there will be food and drink as promised, and lots of variety. Curry, soup and sandwiches, parfaits, homemade potato chips, a cheese plate; Rin went all out. For sweets, there's chocolate chip cookies and a lemon meringue pie, with milk or juice (that looks like it was made from scratch) to wash it down with. Alcohol too, if that's your thing. There's even a bloody mary for Elda, somehow.

As you might guess from the invitation, the bonus piece of paper delivered with the invites is a blank bingo sheet! Whether it's when the invites are delivered or when they come to the party, Rin will give everyone instructions on how to fill it out, and how the game is played.

HUMAN GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BINGO

1. Fill out the sheet with 24 simple facts about yourself! They should be anything you're comfortable sharing with others, and most importantly they must be true
2. Share sheets with one another! If you have something in common with what's on another person's sheet, you can sign off on that square.
3. Players may sign up to two squares on one another's sheets, but only two! Normally you'd only collect a single signature, but this is a small group.
4. When one row has five signatures horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, that's a BINGO!
5. Whoever has the most BINGOs at the end of the night wins!

That should about cover it. But yeah, it's a game designed for the group to maybe get to know each other a little better. Discussion is encouraged, not just for what you have in common, but what you don't! What's most important is everyone have fun.]

It only happens when lightning makes direct contact with a piece of marble. They aren't made a secret, though... What would be the point of that?

[Now it's her turn to give a questioning look.]

[...THAT'S SO VERY SPECIFIC. Whoa. So he's made out of marble?]

Well... [She waves a hand.] Magic itself is secret in my world for separate reasons, but any mage could tell you what a sorcerer is. It's just that they're rare by comparison; only five have been known to exist, and we're not even sure if all of them are still alive.

[bloodbiter]

Ah, yes, then they're more common in my world. I believe there are several hundred alive right now.

[That makes her curious, though.]

What is the difference between a mage and a sorcerer, where you come from?

[heritrix]

To put it simply, we do separate things. Magecraft uses magical energy to make things happen, but what we do is still achievable through modern science. Mages can only create the possible, through impossible means.

A sorcerer, however, can wield True Magic. They're capable of producing real miracles. Traveling to other worlds, resurrecting the dead; even they can't do all of those things at once, they usually specialize in specific fields. But they're amazingly powerful beings.

[bloodbiter]

I see. Rhys is very powerful, but... I think he would be more like what a mage is, in your world. I think I prefer it that way, though. The power to resurrect the dead - such a thing is not natural.

[A small frown, and a shake of her head.]

I'd be fearful of anyone with such an ability.

I would too, a little bit. It's things like that which made me so cautious about our captors from the moment we arrived.

[With skills like that, they're obviously on the level of the strongest people from her world, so of course she'd be.]

Does that mean you don't agree with what Elda and I said we'd do, though?

[She should get back to this bingo sheet, whoops. Rin gives it a second glance as she asks this, eventually signing off on "fights monsters".]

[bloodbiter]

[She gives another frown, thinking it over.]

It helps to think that... they are not really dead, somehow. We would not be able to talk to them if they were, would we?

There are such things as wraiths and ghosts, but even in my world they wouldn't be so wholly themselves.

[Wouldn't retain the personalities they had in life, basically.]

The fact they're in a place just like we are but interact with it differently also makes it feel otherworldly, in way I don't think of death being. More like their souls were preserved and shoved someplace else.

[A nod.]

I've never heard of such a thing being real where I come from. It seems... almost impossible to believe that they're simply dead, so I wouldn't think of what we're attempting as resurrecting someone deceased.

[heritrix]

So long as you're fine with it, I won't pester you.

[Rin's not sure she sees it the same way, but it's close enough, and no need to argue semantics when they agree with the final result. She shrugs her hands.]

Tell me about these monsters, then. I know it was on your profile too.

[bloodbiter]

Certainly. It’s a bit of s broad topic, though... What are you curious about in particular?

[heritrix]

Well you wrote it down, so whatever is most relevant to you, I'd say. Have you been doing it for long?

[bloodbiter]

Not too long, no. I killed my first ogre several weeks before I came here.

[A tilt of her head.]

To begin with... There are several that are prevalent in my world. Dragons, ogres, gryphons, and specters. Do you recognize all of them?

[heritrix]

Of course, though I can't say I've seen one with my own eyes. They're famous creatures and monsters from legend, however, and may still exist hidden in the world somewhere today.
