Week 3.

WEEK 3

Two more people are dead. Byakuren Hijiri has been murdered and Undyne has been executed. That brings us up to four deaths and twenty-five remaining Participants.

You're doing well.

Take all of Saturday to rest and sleep. You've earned it. On Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. With no more bodies to be discovered, it seems you're safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've remembered something else. Or was that another really bizarre dream?

Like last week, there's a new floor to explore. A reward for your efforts, of course. There's something else new, however, and as you approach the foyer you might hear the beautiful sound of... chickens? Chickens. Those are definitely chickens. It looks like Tabby's petition has worked, you have chosen chickens.

Perhaps even more important are the rule changes, effective immediately. You might want to take note of them.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 25

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[If Youko watches long enough, she'll see Weiss practicing with the thinnest wooden sword in the room. She's quick on her feet, and looks pretty serious.]

[ ...Oh, that's quite impressive. But should she interrupt or stay silent? Interrupting could be considered rude, but so could watching without an invitation... Ah, what should she do...?

Well... maybe if she watched quietly until Weiss seemed like she was done! Or asked her what she was doing. Whichever came first. Either way, there's now a small kimono-clad woman watching Weiss attentively from her spot on the floor. ]

[Youko will get a nod and a quick smile, and once Weiss finishes her last run, she'll sit down and say hello properly.]

Do you fence, back home>

[ Weiss's acknowledgement reassures Youko, and she looks more relaxed for it.

Her question's met with a blank look however, which probably does a good job of indicating that the answer is 'no'.

'Fencing'? What a funny name for it. ]

I'm afraid not. I didn't even know its name. [ or that it had one. ] Um... why is it called that? [ where are the fences ]

It's a play off the word 'defense'. The point of it is to keep yourself defended while striking at your opponent.

I guess nothing like that happens back where you're from?
clearasmud: (huh)

[personal profile] clearasmud 2015-11-17 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... that's clever! [ and totally something that translated well into japanese, thanks omni-language ] A sword can really defend that well? [ she's impressed! ]

Mmm... not really, not anymore. Most people were banned from carrying swords in public... um... a couple of decades ago, now. Is it still fine where you're from?

If you use it in the right way, it can.

[Huh. Weird.]

Most regular citizens don't carry weapons, but the military, the police, and Hunters and Huntresses do, as do those in training.
clearasmud: (UH...)

[personal profile] clearasmud 2015-11-19 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...Please don't let this be something she regrets asking. ]

Hunters and Huntresses...? Like... [ nervous sweating intensifies ] ...of animals?
icysemblance: (uh well...)

[personal profile] icysemblance 2015-11-19 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
No, nothing like that. There are monsters in our world called Grimm. The Hunters and Huntresses protect the people from the Grimm.
clearasmud: "But... it's true" (TRIAL TIME TRIAL TIME)

[ 'Monsters'.

Sorry Weiss, we're not out of the woods yet. ]

I see... what makes them monsters, in your world? Seeing as we might have differing mental pictures from each other.

The Grimm don't have souls. They wear skeletons of creatures they killed over solid black skin, and they feed on the negative energy of people.

It's different from someone being a Faunus, or a person with animal features. One of - well, she said not to tell, but I think it'll be okay just for now. Anyway, one of my teammates is a Faunus. She's no monster.
