It keeps happening

[After that horror show of an execution, Mordecai is still restless from the investigation and trial. He has too much pent-up energy, and plenty of others are sure to be upset, too. Ashley was loved by nearly all of them, the trial was mentally draining, and that execution was crueler than it should have been.

Two hours after everyone has returned to their rooms, they'll find a note slipped under their doors.]

We can't go on with empty stomachs. There's food in the kitchen, and the dining room is always open if you need someone to talk to.

Please keep anything outside of eating and civilized conversation away from the dining hall. That room is meant to be a peaceful place for those of us that need it.

[Today, there's cream of tomato soup warming up on the stove with a set of bowls besides it. It's a more mindless dish to prepare than mashed potatoes, as much as Mordecai wants to vent his frustrations on the potatoes.

He decides to follow Cabanela's tradition and lights one more candle, and after some consideration, lights a sixth. Let those who cared about either girl pay their respects.]

[ Sol always shows up to the meetings after the trials. She doesn't see any reason to alter that - it wasn't like Asuka had normally gone, was it? She'd dropped off food the first time, and then...

...

She picks a seat at random, and even grabs a bowl of soup, although it's more because she knows she should eat something today than it is any real desire to eat something. She's perfectly available for talking to, although her conversation will be peppered with language as always...whenever she finally finishes eating, she'll simply sit for a while, contemplating the candles.

Before she leaves for her room, she will sing exactly one song, picking a tune she'd sung for someone else that week and going through it to completion. Then she really needs sleep. Sol won't really be her usual exuberant self - mostly - but she will in particular be looking for Tabby to flag down while she's at the party. She can be caught either at the party with the above or on her way back to her room, her hands shoved into her jacket pockets. ]

[Though he's not in a great state of mind (though honestly, who is?) Morty shows up to the meeting. He wasn't sure what he was even doing there, until he saw Sol sitting by herself looking a little lost, very tired.

Wordlessly, he walks over to her and pulls up the chair to her left. He sits, but he can't really find the words to say. Hopefully just his physical company will be enough, or she speaks up herself before he makes a fool of himself trying too hard to cheer her up or something.

[ But how exactly are you going to make a fool of yourself, Morty? That might be entertaining to see...

For the time being, Sol will just sort of slump to the side he's sitting on, dropping her head on his shoulder. Normally she'd try to get this sort of reassurance from Luna, but her sister was in her room. ]

[He could pull out the lame jokes to try to get a laugh, or try to impress her with skills he doesn't have. Honestly it's.. it's not hard for him to make a fool of himself.

Anyway, this definitely was not something he expected to happen but nonetheless! He'll do his best to be a good... thing to lean on.

He kind of slumps a little bit in his chair so his shoulder is lower for her, and contemplates for a moment doing something like stroking her head comfortingly but he decides that might come off as creepy instead. So he just opts to sit there, non-moving with his face beet red. Maybe.. maybe he should speak up though. To make sure she's okay.]

S-Sol...?

[sunsong]

...Yeah? What's up?

[ She's not entirely okay, but at least she hasn't started crying? Team hasn't cried once so far...

watch it happen next week, god ]

[don't jinx them the last thing we need is for a murder to happen with luna and rick or something]

Um, are... [He starts, about to ask the question he already knew the answer to. Of course she wasn't okay. Nobody was okay, not after something like that. After losing such an important friend to someone who was supposedly close to her...]

I-I'm sorry. You and Asuka were really good friends, a-and everyone was gaining up on her, calling her a monster like that... [Not to mention the torturing execution they just witnessed.. but Morty doesn't want to bring it up so fresh after it happened.]

[decrees]

[Logan shows up late and he's only in time to catch the end of Sol's song, but it still sends a chill down his spine. He waits by the door until Sol is done and only then does he approach to sit beside her.]

...That was beautiful.

[sunsong]

...Thanks, Logan. [ She doesn't grin, but she isn't frowning, either. Just looks neutral. ]

It's an Irish folk song - we went there, once or twice.

[decrees]

To... where, exactly?

[is aggressively british, doesn't know what ireland is GOOD JOB LOGAN]

[Tabby doesn't ever show up to these things on time. It's not like it takes a genius to figure out why - she raids the executed party's room after the trials and dumps whatever she finds in her room before heading to where everyone else it. It has less to do with not being alone and more to do with keeping anybody from coming looking for her.

She shows up while Sol's singing, grabs a bowl of soup and starts eating. Fortunately, she's kind of hungry, so she's still around after Sol finishes, in the process of getting herself a second helping.]

[ When she spots Tabby, Sol will get up and go over to where the food - and Tabby - happens to be. ]

Hey! ...Tabby. Uh, did you - get Asuka's stuff? There's - there's somethin' of hers I want, if that's okay.

[zomgboom]

Is it, like, yours or something? [She doesn't really care, she just wants to know.] I mean, I'll give it to you even if it's not but I was just wondering if I should have, like, known something belonged to someone else.

[swirlied]

[ Yuuri catches Sol on the way back to her room, just leaving his own room. ]

Hey, Sol. [ He doesn't really know what else to say after everything, so he just offers her a small smile. ]
