[This whole week has been awful. This whole experience has been awful. Mordecai wants to go straight to his room and deal with his frustrations, but that's not what a mayor does. A mayor takes charge, a mayor fixes what's wrong, a mayor makes things better. Even if he can't do everything on his own, he's has to do something.

Two hours after the end of the trial, the living will find another note slipped underneath their doors.]

There's cookies in the kitchen. The dining room is ready for anyone who needs a quiet place to talk it out. I'll be in the bar if you need a drink, alcoholic or something more appropriate for the underage crowd.

[There's a pile of warm chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen. Two more candles are lit at the memorial - one for the victim, one for the culprit - and Mordecai has left a pile of blankets from the storage room on one of the dining room tables.]

I dooon't think that's what she was intending to do at the time, but she showed all of us something valuable today.

Even if it wasn't intentional, she clearly wanted to do as much as she can once she saw what happened.

...Admittedly, I would've been impressed even if it hadn't done anything, but you know how it is.

I don't think the toy camera the machine gave me has a flash, but at least nooow we know a way to harm that thing.

I'm sure there's more than one way to get enough light going to do something, anyway. I guess I just have to hope that if the pattern continues, the next person who decides to murder someone arms themselves to the teeth.

That does sound like a good idea.

Maybe someone will have found a flamethrower by then.

Well, I'm sure we can find plenty of things that can burn in here. Actually, I have a few in mind as we speak...

You knooow, you want something that can burn veeery easily.

I believe after 40 proof, you can burn just about any drink.

I'm really glad that we're thinking along the same lines... though, I wonder if we have anything that strong up there. Surely there has to be a way to get it to that point, right?

I'm not sure.

There has to be some sort of brand of vodka in here somewhere.

...you know, I'm sure Mordecai would be the best one to ask there. I'll definitely have to look into it the next time I see him.

That sooounds like a plan to me. Tabby might appreciate getting in on the action, too.

Oh, I wouldn't dream of leaving her out. She seems like she'd know a fair bit about that sort of thing.

I assume she'd have looots of fun.

We could use a little positive excitement in this place, if nothing else. I have to admit, I like the idea of trying out some experiments.
