[This whole week has been awful. This whole experience has been awful. Mordecai wants to go straight to his room and deal with his frustrations, but that's not what a mayor does. A mayor takes charge, a mayor fixes what's wrong, a mayor makes things better. Even if he can't do everything on his own, he's has to do something.

There's cookies in the kitchen. The dining room is ready for anyone who needs a quiet place to talk it out. I'll be in the bar if you need a drink, alcoholic or something more appropriate for the underage crowd.

[There's a pile of warm chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen. Two more candles are lit at the memorial - one for the victim, one for the culprit - and Mordecai has left a pile of blankets from the storage room on one of the dining room tables.]

We should. It's worth asking; I don't know what he chooses to answer and not to answer, but I believe we need to get as much information out of him as possible, if weee're going to stand a chance.

There was at least ooone other, if we're going by the journal Jean found-- and I suspect more than that.

But none of them ended up holding him accountable. Unless the word suddenly means something different when applied to himself, but...I'm not sure that's the case.

Maybe they didn't have a chance to stop him.

I think they might have been his coworkers. The ones he "didn't personally kill".

[She curves her fingers in sarcastic quotation marks.]

He's certainly not keen on taking responsibility himself.

...not yet, at least... [She's still pretty surprised that his plan apparently involves that possibility at all.]

I wonder why he'd offer in the first place. This seems like a game to him.

He likes and hates humanity. Maybe that's why - he wants to give us some kind of chance. If we fail, he uses that to justify what he's done to us.

He likes people enough to give them a chance, but doesn't care if they fail at using the opportunity given to them.

He doesn't really want them to succeed in the first place. No one said he had to give a high chance. It'd be so much more fun for him to sit up there and brood about how humanity failed once again...

...that makes him sound like some kind of cartoon villain. You get the idea.

He'll do whatever he can to make sure we don't succeed. That's why we neeed to stop him.

I'm not going out of here just to let him do this again to somebody else.

We'll stop him, and make sure this never happens again.

We'll need to see about this organization of his as well. Even if this wasn't their design...they gave him the means.

I haven't found anything about this organization so far.

Cleeearly it exists-- there must be information about it somewhere.

Maybe Lisbeth hid something for us. I doubt we'll get it any other way, unless someone gets back into the Conductor's little lair.
