Induction.

You've all had some time to get to know each other; whether or not you're all getting along is another matter. Either way, one thought pattern seems to be pretty prevalent, no matter what you think of this entire situation –

Where, exactly, is the Conductor?

That question isn't going to be answered in full, even now; if you were hoping to work out exactly who the Conductor is...well, that's not going to be readily answered, either. What you are going to get, however, is the sound of that public address box mounted into the wall somewhere above your heads crackling to life; it's staticky and a little grating at first, like someone's fiddling with the volume control somewhere, but eventually it clears up.

"Ah, is it..?"

It's a little uncertain at first, but that, too, clears up soon enough; it's a male voice, at least that much is discernible.

"Greetings to the lot of you, the new class at Graceside Academy; I trust you've familiarized yourself with the rules.

"You can call me the Conductor
."

Complicated? I think that I can understand 'complicated', so why don't you spare a few minutes to explain why those profiles are a mess of complete misinformation.

Obviously, they are. I'm nowhere near a century old, at the absolute minimum. And I've no idea where you got the impression that I like Jojo, but that couldn't be farther from the truth either.

Jonathan, then.

[He corrected himself through grinding teeth complete with fangs he hadn't noticed yet.]

Are you going to answer me, or continue to play such childish games?

Then your knowledge is seriously lacking. I hope you don't expect to be hailed as some omniscient force, with that being so obvious.

Are you?

[because he still can't find his mask, buddy.]

I don't imagine a single human could really orchestrate all this, flawed as it may be. Do you expect us to believe you're working alone?

...

[oh, HELL no you did not.]

Not remotely. But I'm not so stupid as to think even someone unbelievably talented could do something of this scale on his own.

[you and i are gonna have a problem, odd talking box that claims to be human.]

I have a few theories, of course. [No he doesn't. He's making this up as he goes.] From first impression, I think it would either take a very large group of people with mediocre talents or a small group with exceptional talent to organize this
