You've all had some time to get to know each other; whether or not you're all getting along is another matter. Either way, one thought pattern seems to be pretty prevalent, no matter what you think of this entire situation – Where, exactly, is the Conductor? That question isn't going to be answered in full, even now; if you were hoping to work out exactly who the Conductor is...well, that's not going to be readily answered, either. What you are going to get, however, is the sound of that public address box mounted into the wall somewhere above your heads crackling to life; it's staticky and a little grating at first, like someone's fiddling with the volume control somewhere, but eventually it clears up. "Ah, is it..?" It's a little uncertain at first, but that, too, clears up soon enough; it's a male voice, at least that much is discernible. "Greetings to the lot of you, the new class at Graceside Academy; I trust you've familiarized yourself with the rules. "You can call me the Conductor."

[oh, no, this girl seems really distressed... which is something, considering that everyone's distressed. so, Sukuyo goes up to her and gently puts a hand on her arm.]

Ashley's getting very tired of answering this question because the answer is, every single time, in some form:] No. I don't want to be here at all.

[at the gasp, she holds her arm just a little tighter. if it didn't feel so forward, she'd hug the poor girl... all these young girls are reminding her so much of Mako...]

None of us do. But, it's okay! As long as we all stick together, we'll get out of this just fine!

Fine?! [Oh dear. Ashley's voice cracks and that seems to make her even worse.] That old guy said he wanted to kill all of us, how can we stick together and be fine?! Someone's going to- I don't want to die yet, I don't!

Shh, honey, calm down! No one's going to die! What's one old geezer against almost thirty other people?

I bet he's not just the only one! S-so many people could, just- ohhh, I can't stand this!

[housenurse]

It's not going to happen! Don't you see how everyone's arguing with him? We're all determined to find a way out of here without killing anyone! And being determined is the first step towards actually doing something!

Th-they are? They...are, aren't they? I was so scared I just... [Started jumping to the worst conclusions......]

It's okay, hon. I think everyone's pretty scared. [smiles gently] I know I am. We just need to stay positive and concentrate on getting ourselves out of here, okay?

Positive. Yeah, right. [If she starts crying again swear to god.] Oh, God, you don't need this. Thank you, ma'am, f-for...trying to make sure I don't snap or something.

[housenurse]

There'll be no snapping on my watch! Just try to stay calm, okay?
