Take Responsibility.

After a while, the door at the bottom of those stairs unlocks and it swings open gently of its own accord, allowing everyone back down into the courtroom; it's not as bad as it was last week, but again, there are decidedly fewer of them than there were last time.

The podium circle has changed once again, with Rick, Tabby and Sukuyo joining the ranks of the deceased, their podiums draped with black cloth and adorned with greyscale photographs. The shadows are quiet down in the darkness of the pit; for the time being, it's hard to say what the pit itself looks like after the explosion last week.

One way or another, we'll find out by the end of the day.

As usual, the proceedings are being watched from behind that panel of glass behind podium 30; he'll speak as soon as everyone has found their place in the circle.

"Familial has been taken from you. Regardless of what her affiliation was – whether she was with me or the lot of you – you know what you have to do by now. There can be no hesitation; you should offer no mercy.

It's you against the guilty. Take control of your fate, and hold them responsible.
"

Ten Participants remain. However many more we lose today is up to you.

What if she wasn't trying to get rid of the letter in her room, but she was trying to hide it somewhere that the killer wouldn't see, hoping that we'd find it later?

I mean, you wouldn't get rid of a letter by putting it in your bed... and the fact that I found an old letter in her room is pretty decent proof that she was keeping the letters that she didn't end up sending, right?

No, hang on. The letter YOU found was crumpled up and half finished, like she threw it away. The letter SUSAN found was all nice and finished and not crumpled up. Isn't that obviously way too different to assume Sukuyo ditched both of them?

... Gonna be honest here, I have not a fucking clue. I feel like that's more trying to get inside her head and figure out what she might or might not have been thinking, there could be any number of reasons she did different things with different letters.
sunsong: (YO ♫ can we not tho.)

Look, if the letter was written by her without being forced, it's a suicide. That's what I'm saying here - and I don't think it IS a suicide. Because...that letter was written immediately before she died, from how it sounds.

...Ugh, I guess it doesn't fuckin' matter, let's move on from this...we're all disagreein' on it, and we all more or less agree she didn't actually fuckin' kill herself, right?

Yeah, I don't think any of us at this point think it was suicide.

... But also, I'm still open to the theory she wasn't forced to write the letter. Anybody can write a suicide letter and not actually go through with it. The shitty set-up could be because the killer saw the letter already there and tried to use it to their advantage.

I'm not, like... married to this theory, I just don't think we should count it out either.

Yeah, that's fair enough. Anyway...we should figure out what was burned or how she was actually killed if not by rat poison, right...?
blazeit: (a thoughtful bakugou is... strange)

Yeah, that seems like a more productive conversation right now.
