WEEK 2.

WEEK 2

Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means.

No more excuses from here on out.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain?

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Alena!]
explosivecombat: (I haven't the vaguest where he's gone)

[Kimblee is here in "what a weird dream" solidarity, honestly, and he's seeming a little out of sorts today; that said, he's gotten a bunch of coins and as such he's...here...to...]

...Where did you get that?

[Because Estelle has something that is very much a State Alchemist pocketwatch, even if he can't see the inside of it or any particularly identifying personal marks, he's very sure that that's the Amestrian military emblem on the outside, where in the world did that come from?]
firstaid: (Eh?)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-17 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[She looks at the pocket watch in her hands and holds it out for Kimblee to see better. Given his expression and tone, she wonders if it's something that belongs to him, especially since she got a personal item out of the machine herself.]

It came from that machine. Do you recognize it?
explosivecombat: (It's no accident that I've survived)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He'll accept it, flicking it open again as he does so, and he just sort of...pauses for a moment before he seems to relax.]

This hasn't been in my possession for years, so I'm wondering how they got ahold of it... But yes, it's definitely something I recognize, it's something I received from the military upon becoming a State Alchemist in the first place.
firstaid: (Books!)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I suppose what I got-- [She pulls out an elegant looking hairpin with pink flowers and a string of pearls on it from her pocket.] --wasn't on my possession either, but I'm really happy to see it. It's like it's telling me to not lose myself here.
explosivecombat: (I like the way you think)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that's pretty, actually.]

A good message to have, if you ask me.

[...]

Do you mind if I keep this? [The watch.] I'm willing to give you something in exchange, should you want that.
firstaid: (smile; adoring; appreciative)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
It really is, and something I may need right now. [Anything to stay strong here, really.

She then motions to the pocket watch he's holding.]

If it's yours, please keep it. I don't need anything in exchange.

[She smiles, happy to let him have it especially since it does appear to be his.]
explosivecombat: (Someone needs to listen more carefully)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... It's appreciated, then.

[He's slightly weirded out by the watch's presence here, if he's going to be entirely honest, but it's...sort of nice having it back? He doesn't know.]

Is it just the events of the weekend that have been concerning, or did something else happen?
firstaid: (follow the leader)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Estelle shakes her head before looking down at her hairpin that she's cradling in both hands.]

I had a dream last night that was vivid and it felt very real. No, it was more a nightmare than a dream. Ever since I woke up, I can't get it out of my mind since I remember every instance of this dream. Usually you only remember bits and parts of a dream, but I remembered all of this one.

explosivecombat: (I haven't the vaguest where he's gone)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that's - ]

...Likewise, actually. At least in that it was exceedingly vivid, and unlike dreams that I usually tend to have.
firstaid: (more concern)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
You... too...?

[It seems like a coincidence, but...]

Did it feel like maybe you saw the future?
explosivecombat: (My incomplete symphony of destruction)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
...I wouldn't say that, no.

[He shifts a bit; his left hand slides over part of his suit jacket, ghosting over the left side of his abdomen a little before he slides it into his pocket.]

If anything, I'd say it was a subconscious attempt at explaining something that's been troubling me since I arrived.
firstaid: (hmm; unsure; unwanted)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[She watches that motion he makes as he puts his hand in his pocket. An injury, perhaps?]

What was troubling you, if I may ask?
explosivecombat: (Isn't that how this is supposed to end?)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
I mentioned at the meeting last week that I had scarring that I couldn't explain. I awakened here with it; it was entirely healed but extremely severe, and I've had the feeling that something...happened to my internal organs.

The dream I had involved taking a violent injury to that particular area.
firstaid: (huh; oh; realization; I see)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, Estelle was being... very Estelle at that meeting or else she may have remembered that.]

That... seems odd. Yet the fact that you arrived with scarring from an injury you don't remember getting... what does that all mean?

[She wonders if the dream and his scar is connected, but she's not sure if she wants to voice it especially since it's not for her to say.]
Edited (we're just forgetting words left and right tonight) 2017-09-18 02:29 (UTC)
explosivecombat: (All alchemists are self-serving)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's a good question, really. Either way, the dream doesn't explain all of it - for one thing, I'm fairly sure that if I were injured in the way that I remember, it should have been fatal. For another, it doesn't explain the other...equally fatal-looking scarring that I have elsewhere.

[...He showed up with, like, a veritable cavalcade of really hideous scars in really confusing locations, um.]

Honestly, at this point I really am questioning whether Miss Fern's theory was correct and Mr. Jericho just took a scalpel and had at.

[he cannot bring himself to call her 'Miss Green' because that strikes him as a little on-the-nose, so 'Miss Fern' will have to do]
firstaid: (i'm thinking)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
What as her theory again? I remember her asking if we were all in danger before we arrived or if we were a danger to someone.

[Again, Estelle was being special at that meeting. She's trying to recall but she was manic as fuck because Estelle is good at being manic as fuck sometimes.]
explosivecombat: (My incomplete symphony of destruction)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
She seemed to think that it's possible he did something to us - something that he could 'save' us from later.

[And I mean, he entirely agreed with that notion because it seems like the sort of thing that would lead to...well, this.]
firstaid: (huh; oh; realization; I see)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Like putting us in harms way...? But that doesn't make sense.

[This is the kind of stuff that flies over Estelle's head-- people like this who think they're 'saving the world', but in reality they're just fucking things up.]
explosivecombat: (Someone needs to listen more carefully)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't, but on the other hand, it's not like most of this does, either.
firstaid: (eavesdrop)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no it doesn't. None of this makes sense at all, yet... it's all happening.

[She looks down at the memento in her hands.]

I'll continue looking for a way to escape. I have to.

[Not that she's helped much, but she's determined now to at least try.]
explosivecombat: (I like the way you think)

[personal profile] explosivecombat 2017-09-18 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
...A few people have discussed utilizing Rule Four to its fullest, I know that. The one dealing with investigating this place without being impeded by the Coordinators.

It's an idea, at any rate.
firstaid: (i'm thinking)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-09-18 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It is an idea. I'll have to do that especially if they won't get in our way.

[She'll keep that in mind until she's distracted by the library.]
