WEEK 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Jean Kirstein and Caren have both died due to a tragic accident. Of course, you're not entirely innocent, are you? You voted, you played into this game the Coordinators are running. But you know the stakes now. You know what failure to complete Rule Seven really means. No more excuses from here on out. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, exploring the building from here on will reveal something new: namely, a stairwell in the northeastern corner, leading upwards toward a new floor entirely. Another sign of how things are going to progress around here, maybe; chances are you'll enjoy what you've been given, but was it worth the lives of two people to obtain? Machines just run on energy, so I don't really think so. Of course, I've seen some that are possessed, but as soon as you get rid of their power source they're nothing to be afraid of.

[So she's seen 'smart machines', but she knows that technically humans are smarter.]

... You've seen ghosts in the machines?

[firstaid]

Not ghosts, per se, more like they've gone out of control and seem like they've gained a consciousness of their own?

[Said while she looks at the roomba that's now spinning and picking a new direction to vacuum.]

... Doesn't that mean that the robots are rebelling? Isaac Asimov?

[firstaid]

Rita can always hack into them and fix them, so I don't think so? Also, who's Isaac Asimov?

He's just some author that wrote about rebelling robots.

[ No he wrote about a lot of shit honestly. But that's what she's focusing on in this moment!! ]

Oh, an author? I would like to read his works one day. Robot rebellion certainly sounds interesting!

[Too bad the library has a lack of sci-fi...]

I only ever really skimmed it once or twice.

[ She's not that big of a reader, what can she say. She shrugs, following the path of roomba as it makes to get under ... a chair. Huh. ]

[firstaid]

Do you not really read books then, Elda?

[matchbreaker]

Mmm, I wouldn't say I'm a complete non-entity when it comes to literature or anything? But it's never really been that much of a thing for me. I've always thought, I can just go out an experience half these things! You know?

[firstaid]

That's nice you were able to do that.

[There's a hint of jealousy in her voice there.]

To be able to experience those things.

[matchbreaker]

Well, of course! Like anything was going to stop me.

[ She sneers at the chair the thing went under, sounding amused. She's not ignorant - of course there's greater depth there. But she doesn't seem to care that much either.

Yep. ]

[firstaid]

I think that's amazing. You have an indomitable spirit, don't you?

[She smiles, knowing full well she made an attempt on a shitty pun.

Then looking at where their roomba went. It sounds like it's hitting a few of the chair legs before it emerges from the side.]

[matchbreaker]

Oh, you're seriously referencing my title, Noble?

[ Sheesh. She laughs at that, her cheeks coloring just a little as she watches the robot finally make it out. Wow. Well done ]

So you do read a lot, I take it.

[firstaid]

[She giggles a at the first part before she nods.]

Books were all I had growing up, so I read almost whenever I could.

[matchbreaker]

Huh.

[ A finger goes up to her lip, running the nail between her lips and humming. She... ]

You ever hear about a love story between -- well, a human and something else?

[firstaid]

Certainly, I've ready many stories in fantasy about romance between races-- forbidden love, as they say!

[Her hands clap together as she excitedly talks about this.]

[matchbreaker]

Fairy tales, huh?

[ Fantasy between races... ]

Or do you have races abound where you're from?

[firstaid]

[She's silent for a moment.]

There's humans, Entelexeia... and there may be Children of the Full Moon as well. I'm not entirely sure though since it's just something I dreamt about last night.

[matchbreaker]

[ . . . What the hell are those second two? She looks away from the robot to glance skeptically at Estelle before she nods ]

Okay, so stuff between them or did you sort of just have made up tales?

[firstaid]

Everything else is fiction. Then again, we didn't think the Entelexeia were real until we met two of them. I also thought the Child of the Full Moon was from a story as well.

[Yeah, it's complicated...]

[matchbreaker]

Okay, so I was right in the first place, more fairy stories than anything.

[ She shakes her head. What was she even asking for, really? She brings a hand up to brush her nail against her own lips. Mmm. ]

[firstaid]

It's weird, though, because I'm a Child of the Full Moon. I didn't think I was anything but human until recently. I still probably am a human.

[Well, since they're talking about races...]

At this point, I don't know the full story, and I'm pretty sure my dream was just a dream, but I can't shake the feeling the Children of the Full Moon were... unwanted.
