WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Walter White and Fern Green have joined the deceased. Their losses will be felt, just like all the deaths before them. While you might be tempted to put that mess of a trial out of your heads, it's hard to forget what happened. It's even harder to ignore the secrets that have been revealed, still burned into the wall of the dining room. You all have a lot to discuss, don't you? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... The past week's trial seemed to be hard on everyone, including your captors, it seems that you're still being rewarded for your work; a new floor has been opened up to you, and along with it the return of the uneasy sense that they approve of what you're doing here: killing each other, picking one another off, singling each other out in the trials. It's likely not a pleasant feeling, knowing you're giving them what they want. But what else is there to be done? PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 28

[ She can wreck some extras that didn't turn out so nicely, it'll be fine. Alex'll be some nice hands to have too... Aligula knows rock stars, but like, every world's probably got their own version? Better to let the girl throw her own concepts at the wall. ]

[This week has been surprisingly...not awful? The incentive certainly was something, but Susan figures that's the same as any other, in the end. Someone is going to kill; someone is going to die. It doesn't really matter what they choose to offer at all.

Even if just one little change would have averted it all...

Today, she'll actually get to trying to draw a rough map of the area. You can find her wandering the halls, making only a token effort to measure things out for real. Just taking paces can show where there's empty space; all of them are pretty large, aren't they? When she's done with that, she'll just leave it in the dining hall. No reason to keep it for herself.

In the evening, she's making the most of it by checking out the westernmost wall of the dojo. The room hadn't seemed worth much investigation; it's so open and empty. But there's a whole chunk of space back there, so maybe something along the walls...? You can find her in there looking profoundly out-of-place. Please, no sparring.]

Oh, well, yes. I just know that if you're going to work out, you're not supposed to skip leg day so you can keep them looking fantastic.

Well... Sort of. [ How's she gonna get it... ] Like, when I woke up here, the last thing I remember was seeing the All-Seeing Eyes kid hanging off my truck? But the next week, my dream... thingy was like, a Halloween party with the other kings—we were watching our newest member's plan take off and screw the city up, and I had champagne! It was pretty fun, and like, I was wearing that Alice costume I came here in too...

The week after that was at an amusement park with two of my associates too... The one who threw the Halloween party and like, usually throws all the parties anyway, Femt, and the other one was the guy who's plan I just mentioned? I gave him some glasses he asked me to make for him, I guess, and he hugged me and spun me around and praised me. [ Bleh. This is a bleh face she's making. ] He's kinda an upstart, but he's technically older than I am... I guess.

And this week's was sort of in the same place? The amusement park with those two, and upstart shrimp was waxing poetic about lives having meaning or whatever, and the city's kraken took down a plane that was trying to fly in... That's what we went to the park for anyway, to watch that happen, since the park's on an island and you can get a really good view...

[ ... ]

That wasn't Halloween though, and it wasn't cold enough to be after that, so it had to be before... [ She's getting hers back backwards. ]

And I still don't know if I got my man back, or what happened to that kid. Like, I think the glasses were for his eyes, so I had to have seen 'em up close to figure something out that'd reverse their capabilities and allow someone else to control them when they were activated... [ A soft hum as she wraps the measurement tape around her fingers; she's been getting quieter, more talking to herself than anything. ] I could theoretically do it without seeing that stuff for myself first-hand, but it'd definitely be riskier to use... I'd guess I'd put him in my truck for safekeeping and for some company, but then what? He's not my type, and he needs to be alive for those eyes to work, and I was super busy, so I wouldn't be to do anything to him anyway...

Four's such an ordinary number though! Why not three people? Since a lot of magic relies on "the power of three" or whatever.

Well, it's not necessarily an integral part of the job, it does help if you like to get a little more hands on with things than just sitting back and letting other people do the heavy lifting. It helps that under normal circumstances, I can use these forms I'm practicing to manipulate water instead of just... hitting people, I suppose.

Eeesh, your mages would jump to just killing everyone? Even vampires aren't that brutal these days, my boy's always telling me that we've moved on from just killing problem people.

My standards are nothing! I'd never be drinking this prepackaged tasteless garbage if I was given an option to hunt! But they've neutered half my skills, I don't have bats, and the minute I bite any of these people, they'll all turn on me.

[ That isn't that Aligula meant... ]

[ it's clear, honestly, that while she is getting better at it, remembering lessons from centuries ago, Elda's no master at the piano, particularly missing sheet music. There's flubbed little keys and some late notes. But the fact is she's playing with enough gusto and confidence - no hesitation - that in a riff like this, the fact is that it's not that big of a deal.
