WEEK 4
Walter White and Fern Green have joined the deceased. Their losses will be felt, just like all the deaths before them. While you might be tempted to put that mess of a trial out of your heads, it's hard to forget what happened. It's even harder to ignore the secrets that have been revealed, still burned into the wall of the dining room.

You all have a lot to discuss, don't you?

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

The past week's trial seemed to be hard on everyone, including your captors, it seems that you're still being rewarded for your work; a new floor has been opened up to you, and along with it the return of the uneasy sense that they approve of what you're doing here: killing each other, picking one another off, singling each other out in the trials.

It's likely not a pleasant feeling, knowing you're giving them what they want. But what else is there to be done?

My dad taught me. I've been hunting for years.

[Some might expect Hibiki to be appalled by the idea of hunting. She loves animals more than anything, after all. But you know what? Meat is delicious, and having a healthy understanding of you, your role in the ecosystem, and where your food comes from is just as good as being a vegetarian.]

That's so cool! I've been fishin' a few times, but I've never been hunting or anything like that. I lived on an island, so I could just walk onto the beach whenever I wanted...so fishin' was the best! But it's not as fun to watch as this is, hehe.

Yeah? I've done a bit of fishing too. The fish back home don't get really big, so mostly I just hunt stuff like squirrels and rabbits. Sometimes I get lucky and get a dog or a deer.

[ She notches another arrow and lets it fly. ]

It's always best when I find a deer, because then I don't have to worry about meat for a while.

I'd love to be relaxin' in front of the water, catchin' fish to feed everyone right now...I miss it more than ever. Is hunting something you find relaxing, or is it really stressful? I don't think I could do it myself.

[But, again, there's not an ounce of judgment in her voice.]

Yeah... that sounds pretty great. It's... I don't like not being able to go outside.

[ It's part of her routine, and Katniss sounds uncomfortable when she says it. ]

Yeah, it's really relaxing. Just me and my hunting partner out there, taking things at our own pace... Nothing like here.

Hehe! I feel the same way! I might be a performer, but one of my jobs is to head to a wildlife refuge and teach kids about animals! It's the best job in the world!

[She could go on and on and on about how much she misses being outside, but she has to restrain herself. She likes Katniss after their last meeting and the squirrel onigiri. She likes anyone who apologizes to her, tbh.]

I miss that feeling, too. Not that specific feelin', but everyone's got that relaxin' thing they do that means the world to them, right?

That does sound pretty cool.

[ She sounds absolutely sincere, too. Katniss turns her attention to Hibiki fully, nodding. ]

... Yeah. Even if we could go out for a minute, I'd feel better.

I hope I'm not fired. [Since she's stuck here.] But at this point, that's kinda the least of my concerns.

[But hmmm...]

Alright. If you could do one thing outside that isn't huntin', what would you pick? Like, if a door opened up right now and let us outside for a bit, what would you do?

... Hey, I'll vouch for you if you are.

[ She thinks for a moment. ]

I don't know. Maybe swim?

Hehe. I'll be countin' on you, then.

[It seems so unlikely, but! Hibiki is doing her best to remain cheerful today, and it's a sweet offer.]

I love swimming, too! I was in a race the last time I went to the beach, but I lost because I got distracted watchin' all the fish.

[ Honestly, having someone depend on her is... nice. Very nice. ]

Yeah? I can see that. Colorful fish or something.

He was big and red! I'd never seen one like him before, so I grabbed him and we ended up cookin' him with the other food we'd brought.

[She totally caught a fish with her bare hands. She's the animal girl.]

I'm not talkin' too much, am I? I sorta feel like I interrupted your relaxing.

That's better than winning some race.

[ She shakes her head. ]

No, it's okay. I don't mind.

[ She looses another arrow. ]

Talking about normal stuff is nice.

I'm glad you understand. The gold is good, but a good dinner's even better.

[She's still pretty competitive, though. This is just where fish is concerned.]

Do you have anything normal you want to talk about? Um...like, what's a Mockingjay? That's your job, isn't it? It sounds cute.

[She likes birds.]

A mockingjay's a bird. [ She pauses. ] ... I don't know. It's kind of unclear, honestly. But... I think it has something to do with a rebellion.

Is it like a blue jay?

[Someone has to ask, right? But oh. She didn't mean to make Katniss uncomfortable.]

Oh...does it have to do with our dreams? I'm sorry for askin'! We don't have to talk about it.

No, the jay part comes from jabberjays. They're genetically engineered birds that could mimic human speech.

[ She shrugs. ]

It's fine. I know you didn't mean to bring up bad memories or anything.

Genetically engineered? Like..for breedin' and stuff? They kinda sound like parrots to me. Are jabberjays cute?

[...Hibiki knows she shouldn't ask, but.]

These dreams we're all having have been pretty weird, huh? Even the good one I had was all kinds of confusin'.

They were used to spy on rebels. Cute, though... I don't know about that.

[ She pauses, thumbs at the strong of her bow. ]

Yeah. Really weird. Mine haven't really been all that good.

No, I think you answered my question. Birds that spy aren't cute birds at all.

[It's not a cute behavior at all.]

S-same. Two of mine were pretty bad. One was alright.

One of the girls I work with came over for a sleepover! Well, um. It was kind of a big deal for no reason at all!

[Her secret? About having trouble making friends? That has something to do with it.]

It was really nice, but it was really strange. I think my animals mistook her for a goddess, 'cause they kept doing everything she asked.
