[ With all the hubbub Aligula's been up for few weeks now and especially today, it should really, really not be a surprise that closing in around the evening, flyers start appearing pretty much everywhere, in true Aligula tradition.



There's an extra notice slipped under everyone's doors as well: i made costumes and you're not allowed to tell a ghost story unless you wear one!!!! they'll be in the bar with everything else so don't worry it's all taken care of~~~~ ♥

...yeah.

8pm sees the bar decorated with a lot of toilet paper—mummies were here, obviously—as well as cut-outs of cats, bats, ghosts, owls, and a few freaky looking things that are probably native to Aligula's world. Additionally, the bar counter is laden with dozens of treats, ranging from slightly overdone cookies (sugar, chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, snickerdoodle) roughly shaped like popular Halloween motifs like bats, ghosts, and something attempting to be a pumpkin; thumbprint cookies with some sort of raspberry jelly on them that's a little too sweet, thick, and sticky; to somewhat lopsided chocolate and vanilla cakes, topped with whipped cream frosting and mixed berries. There's hot chocolate and water for people who prefer not to take any of the alcohol that's naturally in the bar, and...

True to her notice, there are costumes laid across several tables and chairs that have been pushed together: bedsheets with fancy embroidery around the hem for some expensive-looking bedsheet ghosts, witch costumes, robes for every monster occasion, cat-ear headbands + tail combination and a marker for whiskers, the same except dog-themed, black capes with red insides for vampires...

If you told her a preference and let her measure you, your costume set aside with a piece of paper with your name attached to it! If not, well. Bedsheet ghosts and capes are one size fit all, though she attempted to eyeball (ha) most everyone, so maybe one of these other ones fit you? Or maybe you don't care and you're not going to tell a ghost story anyway, so whatever.

The ghost stories, by the way, have their own little throne—there's one table pulled away from the others that's covered with a blanket and has a pillow and a few of those cute Cerberus plushes that come out of the machine with it. Take a seat and share something spooky—tis the season in this room, after all. ]

[Sayaka giggles a bit, and...well, she's gonna get started munching on a cookie while she's here. Because she can, honestly.]

Though honestly, between you and me and everyone else...I don't think this snack bar will stand a chance.

I'm pretty sure she did. She's absolutely great with the sweet stuff--did you see that parfait bar, when we first got here? That was the absolute pinnacle of delicious!

[Come on, Alex--she's gonna gesture at a free table or something so they can sit for a bit and enjoy their spoils.]

I knew she handled that herself, but I... I don't know, I didn't know it extended to all this. Mmmm! I'll have to thank her, this...I think we really needed this, this week.

Right? I know I sure did. Honestly, we don't have nearly this many sweets out on even a monthly basis...it's so nice when all of this stuff gets made, because absolutely none of it will go to waste.

[It just means she'll need to practice some more. A lot more. She has eaten so many sweets while here jesus christ--]

Sweets always have a way of making a person feel better, too. It's just the perfect sort of thing to deal with stress...but honestly, it's even better with the atmosphere.

Isn't it? Seeing everyone dressed up and goofing around's like...a gift.

Jeez, what time of year do you even think it is here? Think it's anywhere near actual Halloween?

It really is. Everyone looks so happy, and it's...energizing, I kind of wanna say. They all look like they're having fun, and they're so lively...

[...As for the question, Sayaka pauses a bit while she considers.]

...Honestly? I sincerely doubt it's anywhere near Halloween. But as far as I'm concerned, it's whatever time we make of it here. We've got no way to tell, after all.

Though, next thing you know, Aligula-san's gonna get the idea to do a Christmas party.

What would we even do at a Christmas party? Have one of the older guys dress up with a fake beard and ask what presents we want?

Oh god, I hope not! That would be so, so weird...maybe it'd be better if we just played secret santa, or something. Get or make each other some cute gifts or something...

[That'd be sweet, wouldn't it? Even if it'd probably just. Be a lot of machine based gifts, more than likely.]

Yeah? What about us who can't like, make anything? [ Exhibit A for Alex. ] What'd we do, exchange creepy dollhouses or recruitment posters from the vending machine?

Oh, come on, Alex. There's gotta be something you're able to make, isn't there? Some kind of food, maybe? Everyone here seems to like that, if nothing else.

Not scrambled eggs... I kinda screwed that one up last week. [ sayaka she wasted so many good eggs, they had lives ahead of them. lives as edible food. ] Maybe I'll try reading a book on...I don't know, knitting. Is knitting hard?

It's a little difficult from what I've seen, but you can honestly do anything you put your mind to, you know? [Sayaka beams a bit.] You just have to have the determination to go at it.

But...you know, if you'd ever like to learn how to cook? I'd be more than willing to teach you.

Really? Aw, I've been kind of a disaster every time I've tried, but...maybe it's timing. Uh...sure. Yeah, you know. With you helping me, it'll probably be a dang snap!

[Sayaka's eyes practically light up at this, and she nods her head.]

I certainly won't steer you wrong, at the very least! I'd be honored to teach you how to cook. It's something I've always done to destress, back at home...I really, really enjoy it. It just feels good to do something for yourself.

[ She grins back, though it shifts to a bit of an amused smirk moments later. ]

How am I not surprised that you cook to unwind...? It seems like you. Like- not in the...idol girl kind of way, just, in the you kind of way.

The "me" kind of way, you say...? Heehee--that's rather sweet of you to say. It's just something I found I was good at since I was young.

Curry! It's what I made for the last few things I was involved in--it's probably the best dish I can make, because it's so filling and delicious. Did you try any, by any chance?

You bet! [Sayaka practically puffs out her chest in pride, brimming with confidence.] I'm so glad you like it! Maybe when I make it again, I'll be sure to add a little extra spice--just for you.

[...She giggles a bit at that, though, just. Clearly pleased, so clearly pleased.]
