It's time for an after party!

[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:

In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

[ Yeah, okay. Sol will show up, although instead of her usual hairstyle - half pulled back with a bun to one side - she's got a thick braid. It keeps it out of her way, and she'd been planning to go to sleep, but, well - may as well go see what everyone else was up to, right?

...Besides, she promised Bakugou food. He can always ask her to make something later if he's not in the mood to eat just now, but Sol's going to make a variety of assorted spicy dishes to bring into the dining room, which anyone can steal from if they like. She can be caught in the kitchen - working around anyone else in there - or in the dining room, where she'll just sort of pick a chair and slump into it.

Eventually she'll start singing under her breath, apparently not really thinking about it, her eyes shut. It's just the first song to come to mind, although she relaxes a little as she goes. It's the easiest way to calm herself down, even if her Song isn't there. ]

[ clapping quietly when she finishes singing ]

Oh, hey. [ It's the witch! ] ...Thanks. I haven't sung that one in a while.

[ She knows a bunch of tunes from various countries in Europe and the Americas, for Reasons. ]

[ A tiny smile. ]

Do you sing as a hobby? [ Aside from using her voice to fight, that is. ]

Well...yeah. It's been somethin' I've been doing as long as I remember. It wasn't always what it is now. That's - with Altered, when they changed, what you got supposedly had somethin' to do with who you were.

[ She'd been two. Who had she been? ]

The quack has Operation Start, after all...

What is "Operation Start"?

It's the ability that quack doctor has...he can make medical tools out of any part of his body.

[ Chie props her elbows on the table and rests her chin against her palms as she listens to Sol's song. When it ends, she says: ]

I've been singin' since before I can remember. It's not the same as when I use my Song, but when you put in that much time, you learn some.

[ Her voice has always been lovely. It's just a harmless sort of lovely in this place. ]

[He waits until she's finished before applauding quietly.]

You sing beautifully, Sol.

Thanks, old man. ...You did good today.

[ Thanks for helping them out, she means. ]

[He nods, though his expression grows serious.]

I did what I could.

...What you could was good. I mean...we only all survived that shit because we worked together, right?

I suppose so.

Surviving is just something we all have to do, after all.

Yeah...well, even so - I'm actually glad I got to meet some of you. Even in this circumstance.

[This is the first thing that has made Weiss feel anything besides shocked sadness since the end of the trial. She listens, quietly clapping at the end.]

Thanks! ...It's still a bit weird without my Song, but it ain't so bad singing without making anything happen besides music.

Song? Is that like Semblance?

It's really comforting.

What's Semblance? I dunno if they're the same without knowing that...

Semblance is - well, different for everyone. It's a power we all have back home, but it manifests in different ways. For one of my teammates, it's super speed, for one, it's the ability to take power from each hit she takes, then turn it back on the attacker, for one it's the ability to make a temporary clone of herself.

For me, it's my glyphs - attraction and repulsion glyphs, mostly.

[ When Yuuri finally takes a good look around the room, he spots Sol a few tables away. He gets up and takes a seat next to her and tries to offer her a smile, but it comes off as weak. ]

...Hey.

[ It's okay, Yuuri, her smile isn't much stronger. ]

...Hey yourself. How are you holdin' up?

...I've been better. Are you doing okay?

[ Because he's more worried about everyone else than himself. ]

I'm...okay. It's not the first time I've seen people die.

[ But she could be better, it's true. ]
