[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:


In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

... I'd like to hope that everyone could feel that way, here. Wouldn't it be so much harder to kill anyone, if you thought of them like family...?

Well, I definitely wouldn't kill my mom, 'cause she's my mom. But I haven't got siblings, so I can't really say about that.

... I'm pretty sure if you had siblings, you wouldn't kill them.

I dunno, I guess I just don't have that strong an attachment to family values or whatever? My mom feeds and clothes me and that's pretty cool, I guess, I'll probably do the same when she's old 'cause I'm not a complete shithead.

[she frowns, like she's going to finally call out his swearing, but doesn't. it's been a long day.]

I think that's all a mother can really ask from her child. I'm sure she feels the same way.
