[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:


In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

What kinds do you have? Which one's your favorite? [SO MUCH BETTER THAN TALKING ABOUT MURDER]

I have a lot of Ground-type Pokemon, which are usually pretty big and... well, rocky or spiny. Definitely pretty different from Ditto, although I think Ditto could pretty easily mimic them. That's my preferred type, though they often overlap with Rock and Steel, so I tend to know a lot about those groups, too.

...of course, my actual favorite is a Bug-type, which... probably seems a bit odd.

Bugs can be very cute and useful! [and also delicious and full of protein!] All of yours sound very useful and practical, which is what I would've thought yours would be!

Ahaha, they really can. There are a fair amount of people who specialize in them, and while they're not always good... well, it's not like they're always bad, either.

[don't eat his Beedrill if he ever gets coins to get him back...]

Oh, yes, they certainly are. I imagine they'd be a little impractical in here, though... the majority of them are certainly big enough that I could see them going right through the floor.

[housenurse]

... If you get one back, we could use it to escape! It could go right through the walls! [LOOKS REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT]

...I really wish that was the case, but I kind of suspect that I won't be getting the big ones back for that very reason. I would love to be pleasantly surprised, but that would be really unbelievably stupid of our captors.

At least I'm quite certain they haven't been harmed...?

[housenurse]

Oh, gosh, I hope they aren't! That'd be awful!

Have you written to Conductor-san, asking if they're okay? I did the same for my family, but...

Well, I did ask him if he'd harmed them the first time he spoke to us, but I guess it can't hurt to ask for any sort of status update. I probably won't get an actual answer, but it's worth a go.

[housenurse]

He's very picky about what information he gives out! I always try being extra polite and hoping for the best.

I really just speak as I would expect to be spoken to, but I don't think I've had much luck so far. Maybe I should be a little more complimentary...?

[housenurse]

Flattery always gets you everywhere in life!

If that doesn't work, maybe I'll have to take it up another notch. I might have to spend a while coming up with my strategy...

... That sounds a little scary, and I'm not sure I should encourage it...

It'll be fine. I am one hundred percent positive there is a way to flirt with him that he'll respond to.

It'll be hard to flirt with someone when you don't even know what they look like!

That's the kicker, yes. I mean, I could just stick to complimenting his intellect, because that's really the important thing here...
