[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:


In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

Two? Well, all right... [She turns the stove on and nods.] Okay, and fill the kettle with water. Then what?

[And she's filling a second tea kettle, too. There's a reason for this.]

First, we put both the kettles on the stove! If you want to get the best flavor, you're gonna need two kettles.

[She'll put the first one on the stove herself. The second one is Elise's job.]

I suppose so. [She heaves the kettle onto the fire.] Why on earth are these so heavy to begin with?

...Maybe you should join me for morning exercises, too, huh.

Yep! Animals are the greatest! We always get along great. And you run a farm, right? What's that like?

Well, it's certainly busy, but not too much. After all, I've got people to take care of just about everything. They do take their time sometimes, though... But the townspeople do appreciate all my crops and everything else the estate grows. My only animals are cows and chickens, but I've got quite enough of each. Oh, and my horse, naturally. I do wonder why none of the other farmers around seem to ride horses. Isn't it convenient?

A horse!

[Sugoi, Elise, that captures Hibiki's attention.]

I've never ridden a horse before! There was the festival a while back...I ended up ridin' a bull, but that wasn't the same thing. What's your horse's name?

Riding a bull? Wouldn't that be hazardous?

Schnitzel. He's a purebred from Silk Country. You've never ridden before? I thought it was something everyone did.

Why would it be dangerous? Ushikichi was a great partner!

There's not a lot of horses in Okinawa or in Japan...but one of these days, I'm going to! I can't wait!
