[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:


In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

Yeah. I mean, catching an actual killer is already kind of ideal in and of itself, but I really don't wanna die for some other guy's sins if I can help it.

That's for sure. I wouldn't want to keep hangin' around a killer! But everything is suddenly a lot harder.

Do they cover this kinda investigatin' in hero school?

Nah, I'd say my specialty is more beating the shit outta bad guys.

[ ... Although actually, his specialty is "try everything until he finds a weakness and then beat the shit out of the enemy", which translates alarmingly well into that trial experience. ]

I don't know that hero school prepared me for any of that hot mess. Except being used to having my life at stake, I guess?
